Note: I'm sorry it's been a while since I've updated my stories. I've had a few very busy weeks.

Warnings: Swearing

You sit in Cid's cantina by yourself. One of the lights flickers above you. You kick up your legs on the table, slowing sipping a drink. Cid gives you a frustrated look.

"Feet off the table, kid."

You don't want to argue with her, so you do as she says. Cid retreats back to her office. Echo walks over to you.

"Once you're done with that, we're discussing our next mission on the ship."

"Why can't we do that here?"

Echo looks around and then looks at you.

Lowering his voice, he says, "I don't want to risk someone hearing."

You take a few more sips of your drink and stand up.

"Alright. I'm ready."

You walk out of the cantina and towards the ship.

Everyone besides you and Echo are already on the Marauder. You're a little annoyed that your time alone was cut short, but you also want to talk about the mission, even if you don't like it. Echo sits down in a chair next to Tech.

"Our next mission is from my friend. Rex." Echo looks over at you. "He needs our help with rescuing some clones at an Imperial base."

Hunter shakes his head. "Echo, we've talked about this. It's too dangerous for us."

"I know. I'm just tired of feeling like I'm not helping to stop the Empire."

"You think I don't feel that way? As much as I'd like to help Rex, the reality is that we need to protect Omega."

"We should help Rex. Don't hold yourselves back because of me. I can fight." Omega speaks up.

Hunter looks down at her and sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose with fingers.

"Fine. We'll do the mission." Hunter agrees.

"Thank you." Echo says genuinely.

The truth is, you'd love to see Rex. You've known him since you were young. With your father in the Empire, however, it makes things... different. Your mind isn't too occupied with the fact that Captain Kaldor will most likely be at the Imperial base, but it's thinking about how you'll feel when you see Rex. He knows that your father is with the Empire. You wish you could send him a message, but you know that he would never respond even if he did get it. You wish your father had cared for you how Hunter cares for Omega. Your father was always distant with you. He would care for you, but never was a true father figure to you. One of the ways he did care for you was teaching you how to fight.

"Learning how to defend yourself and to be able to attack effectively is the most useful skill I've learned in my life. Soldiers shouldn't be the only ones who have these skills. At least in this world. Maybe it would be different if we lived in another time." He told you.

A tear falls down your cheek as you think of him.

Once Tech lands the Marauder in a forest by the base, you get your equipment and step outside the ship. Flurries of snow falls on the ground. It's soothing out here, just standing in the snowfall. The wind makes the bitter cold worse. Rex and some other clones walk over to you and the squad. Rex comes up to you.

"Y/N... it's been a while." He says.

"It's good to see you." You say quietly.

Rex nods and goes over to shake Hunter and Echo's hands. Wrecker hugs him tightly. Tech nods at him, then goes back to looking at his data pad. Rex steps back so he's facing all of you.
