Jace Anderson was tired.
He wasn't expecting to wake up to a loud crash and the yells of campers. But that's what happened. Annabeth crashed a chariot. Good job. She knows how to ride a helicopter but not how to not crash a chariot. Shocker.
His cabin was mostly empty except for his own things. Hecouldn't have cared enough to decorate it so he just threw his things inside and lived like that.
It made finding everything much easier. He pulled on a camp t-shirt (It was one of the only clothes they had and everyone had to wear them) and pulled on a pair of loose jeans.
He left his gun on the box and gave a glance to the glass box in the corner before walking out of the cabin and into the winter morning that awaited him outside.
...
He walked down to the beach and stood in the group of all the other campers. He had no idea why everyone made this big of a commotion but maybe they just had a big crush on Percy and wanted to see him again. The thought made him let out a chuckle that got ignored by everyone.
Percy Jackson had gone missing some time ago and most people at camp were making themselves crazy by trying to find him with no clues. Annabeth was the most intense, she was his best friend ever since the guy came to camp as a twelve year old.
Jace liked to think he was more experienced than Percy just because he had been at camp longer than they son of Poseidon had but he knew that wasn't true. Percy had had way more quests and dangerous tasks than he had ever gotten.
Percy was the camp's golden child and Jace thought it was a bit unfair to everyone else. Just because he was a son of a big ol' sea god shouldn't make him more important than everyone else. Thalia (daughter of Zeus) left camp to be a hunter of Artemis and Nico (son of Hades) went somewhere else.
Jace stood silently on the beach while listening to the chatter of other confused campers. The new half bloods looked older than thirteen, why weren't they claimed yet?
Yeah Athena didn't claim him but shouldn't the other gods do a better job at keeping the promise? The three newcomers were talking about what happened to someone named 'Hedge'.
"Who the hell is 'Hedge'?" Jace whispered to the girl standing next to him. He had never heard of someone named Hedge,
The girl ignored him which was pretty rude. Chiron really should teach these kids some manners.
Jace watched on as Will ran towards Annabeth and the now smoking chariot and began scolding her. It did look real fucking funny to have a calm, sweetheart of a medic yell at Annabeth.
He and Will got along pretty well, Will had healed him up whenever he got hurt and was now in his good books.
"These are the ones? They look a lot older than thirteen. Why haven't they been claimed yet?" The Apollo boy asked Annabeth. Jace turned his attention to the three newcomers when Will acknowledged them. The sun behind them hit his face in an annoying way that almost blinded him and made it hard to see the kids. He had to bring his hand over his eyes to not get completely blinded. He really needed his sight to fight, and he really didn't want to die.
Once the sun moved slightly enough to the side he could actually see them. The first thing that caught Jace's attention was the pretty girl. She was definitely a daughter of Aphrodite. So why didn't the goddess claim her?
She had beautiful brown hair and darker skin than a roughly tanned Annabeth. She was drop dead gorgeous and Jace felt his breath get caught in his throat when she even glanced in his direction.
He quickly looked away from the girl and felt his cheeks flush slightly.
"Get yourself together" The girl next to him looked at him weirdly but shrugged it off when he didn't explain.
