Shallow breaths snuck out of the spies mouth, his nearly shredded disguise making light of his gray, rather light skin as blood seeped through the gashes. There, Benevolent stood, reclaiming his breath with nothing but his hand firmly placed on the cold, jagged bricks that layered the exterior of the building that lined the alley way here was in, inhaling for a moment before looking up at the street light in front of him, daring not to even think about stepping into it because if he did- he'd surely be caught for sure this time. He had come close mere minutes ago, shaky and struck with nothing but adrenaline pooling through his veins.
He had lost his gun a few blocks back as he ran as fast as he could bare, never stopping to look behind him in hopes of outrunning the Night operative that was on his tail, thankfully shortly losing him after all. Benevolent fumbled around his waist, grabbing ahold of his transmitter and clicking the on button hastily as he quietly spoke into it, his voice throwing out a barely audible stutter, noting to his majesty, Great, that he was currently being hunted and that he was going to try and sneak out as it was too risky to continue further. He set the transmitter down, finally settling his heart rate as he leaned his back against the wall, sighing out and shutting his eyes before he felt- a presence. A little moment to know he wasn't alone before he felt something cold and blunt hit his head, falling to the coarse gravel below and slipping into unconsciousness.

Great sat at his desk, rather busy with paperwork as his head with practically buried beneath the large mounds that lay atop the wooden table. He clicked his pen a few times, opting to think about what he'd say in his latest report back to the Sunrise Telegram, figuring if anything, he wouldn't dare speak of Benevolent's intrusion into the Night's City. That was of course, unless they claimed victory in which that would look good for them and he'd be happy to share the decisions that led to the successful outcome. But, as it was in that moment, Benevolent was yet to return, him flipping through a few more papers and sighing, setting the pen down and shaking out his hand that grew uncomfortable as he wrote more and more non-stop for at least the last- what-? He couldn't exactly tell- he was never great at keeping track of the clock once he got going with paperwork. For he was a busy man and if he wasn't to attend or hold a meeting, he was usually off doing something for the greater good of his city.
And well- his city was the best you could get out of the two current ones, the other being the Night's City. All that was there was discord and tyranny across the land for miles that enclosed the buildings found in the opposing city. And of course, while mentioning the Night's City, you just had to mention- him. Horrid Night; the corrupt leader that led the other side and frankly- was a thorn in Great's side- mostly.
That was the thing that stuck out to Great, of course he hated Horrid with a burning passions and yet- he, in some senses, didn't want to hate the man. Especially for how admittedly funny the man was, catching himself internally monologuing about the man quite often and even laughing at the little exchanges they've had in the past much to the leaders own dismay. And could you blame him? If anything, Great should've been begging on his knees to a higher power somewhere in the sky to just kill off the guy but- he found himself rather somber just at the thought. And maybe- just maybe in a perfect universe, they could talk things out and perhaps they could maybe become- friends? "Maybe- m-ore..?" Great choked out reluctantly, feeling his throat lurch upon whispering that to himself. He knew he was supposed to hate the man. The man that caused his nothing but strife for nearly his whole term in running the city. Great was never tripped up so much with feelings, always opting to be a rather kind yet stern and formal figure in the city and overall in general no matter who he spoke to, that including Horrid. But there was just something about the man in the purple tie that struck a cord somewhere in the Days leader.
