I had sensed the moon burning over the damp earth. I had experienced the wild water bathing my ankles, seeking its way back to me. I had seen the fire burn for hours with no intention of extinguishing. I had heard the growth of pine branches beneath the earth. My skin could recognize each of the elements of the earth as if they were one within me. My raven-black hair gleamed because of the Phoenix flames once again. His hand over mine, gripping it as if life depended on it. As if his life depended on it.

I was the beginning and the end. I was everything and I was nothing. But she, the one in my dreams and I in hers, were one in the constellations. Where our destiny had been written with star dust.

I gasped for air. My pajamas clung to my back like a second skin. The sun had already risen, and it began to beat on the windows of The Citadel. It wasn't the first time I woke up at dawn. I had been enduring two weeks of endless confusing dreams that did nothing but increase my suspicions that I had started losing my mind again.

Outside, the servants were going about the usual commotion of every morning. Ava and Lloyd were still silent in my presence, due to the stupid protocols imposed by my grandfather, but despite that, I was starting to grow fond of them. Every morning, Ava greeted me with a smile of her huge, pointed fangs, and Lloyd, despite his few expressions, had learned to anticipate my movements and needs. I had never had servants, let alone creatures from the hidden world, but their presence already felt lighter. I had learned that there were different beings working in Albus and Axis, but no witches. Apparently, my grandfather wasn't a fan of them.

"Amy," he knocked on my door as I untangled my wet hair after a cold shower, "are you ready?"

Ekaitz traveled every morning to accompany me to my classes and training. Brandon had been replaced as Gideon considered Ekaitz less irritating than Lexi's brother, who occasionally set fire to objects inside the auditorium.

My defensive and reactive movements had improved with Ekaitz's help, and although I still had much to learn, I was slowly starting to rein in the wild horse that used to be my power. So, it had been decided this morning that it would be my first day of training with the rest of the guards. Alongside the Betas and Alphas of my team. I was scared. In the short time I had spent with the onpixes, I had noticed that they were not only as beautiful as fallen angels and possessed a special glow, but they were also agile, fast, and extremely strong. Each and every one of them descended from a warrior of God, and their ease with physical training was obvious.

With my classes—Latin, history, and knowledge of the hidden world—without cutting short the afternoons with my grandmother, I had barely seen Eamon. I occasionally crossed paths with him in the dining hall, but seeing him cuddled up with Savannah made my stomach churn and ignited a radiant fury within me. So, I avoided his presence, as that was the last thing I needed to plunge into my darkest emotions, dragging me into an abyss where I would fall eternally. And I couldn't even bear to think of Christian and the possibility that he might still be alive, because that thought would undoubtedly drag me straight to hell

It had taken time to limit the force with which my power left my body and mind. Although it was difficult to maintain constant composure, as sometimes I could barely move a leaf, and other times my mind acted on its own, without even using my hands, managing to drag a metal table for meters. I hadn't talked to anyone about it, not even Ekaitz, who had become one of my new confidants and genuinely liked listening to me. However, my inner self screamed beneath the dark surface of my negative emotions because pain and fury were the ones with the foot on the accelerator of my telekinesis. And if I let them press it for too long, I would be able to drag the entire Phoenix forest from the root. The energy flowing in my veins was much more powerful than they imagined, than I even believed.
