Incoming call from unknown number
Kaiyah: Hello
Nurse: Hey Mrs. Williams this is Keontae's nurse from North Memorial
Kaiyah: Okay, is he okay?
Nurse: Yes, he's fine. I'm calling you because we reduced his sedation and he's awake but won't let anyone touch him or anything until he sees you
Kaiyah: Okay, I can be there in 20 minutes. Thanks for calling.
I was so happy to know Keontae is awake, but its 6 in the morning. I got to make sure the kids are good before I can just run out of here. I run down the hall to the guest room and wake up Joyce
Kaiyah: Mama Joyce, the hospital just called. Keontae is awake. But he's not letting anyone do anything for him until he sees me so im about to go up there
Joyce: Oh my God, my baby is back up. I got to call the ladies at my church and let them know.
Kaiyah: Okay, well im about to go ill call you when Im on my way back.
I go down and check on the girls before going into Damir's room and waking my mom up.
Kaiyah: Mom, everyone is sleeping. im leaving the monitor in here with you. Kj should be good he just ate an hour ago and he's back sleep. Im heading to the hospital to see Keontae they woke him up and hes asking for me.
Adrienne: Okay baby, make sure you have everything you need so you can stay up there for a while this time. I got the kids like always
At the hospital
Keontae POV
The last thing I remember is trying to pull the suspect out of his car and then feeling a sharp object in my side right under my vest. Now im waking up and im in this hospital bed and my wife is not here.
Nurse: Welcome back Keontae, we've given you all the meds to get rid of your infection. If your labs look good we will get you transferred upstairs to a regular room. We are just going to take some blood from you
Keontae: *Snatches arm back* Where is my wife
Nurse: She's home I assume shes been up here everyday, im sure shes home sleeping and will be here later in the morning
Keontae: Okay well dont touch me until she gets here, dont even come in here until shes here
Nurse: Well sir, we cant really do that. The doctor ordered labs and would like them done before he makes his rounds at 8
Keontae: You better call my wife up here then cause im not doing shit until I lay my eyes on her
An hour later
Kaiyah: Keontae baby, why wouldn't you let the nurses do their jobs?
Keontae: Cause I had to see you, it wouldn't matter what them labs said If you weren't here. I owe you the biggest apology in the world
Kaiyah: For what? and why wouldn't I be here?
Keontae: I dont know, maybe you'd be mad at me cause I promised id be right back after work and then I ended up in a hospital bed.
Kaiyah: It's not like you purposely got stabbed, I wouldn't just leave you here and not come see you. I cant wait till they move you so I can bring the kids up here. Well the older ones I dont need Kj around any germs
Keontae: *Smiles* You did give him a K name, I remember hearing you say that yall was calling him Kj cause his initials but if thats the case why didn't you just name him Keontae Jr?
