My name is Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard-Carey nee Lowell and this is my diary about becoming the Regency Duchess of Norfolk and Bedford Territories on Star Base 12.
I was not born into the aristocracy. I am American of French, English, Irish, Scottish, and Native American Cherrokee and my maternal ancestors came from New Rochelle, France to avoid persecution from the Roman Catholic Church as they were all French Huguenots, and from Ireland to avoid persecution from The Roman Catholic Church as well.
My paternal ancestors came from England in Wessex and Scotland and Ireland as well, but in the middle 18 century they sailed from Europe and settled in the Southern Region of The United States.
Most of them were farmers, which is a noble profession and started their families, and from South Carolina. They moved even further south to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
My paternal great-great-great-grandfather had settled in Alabama, and he had two sons and so forth.
Like in Ireland, religion played a big part in who one married, and when my father married my mother in 2243, my grandmother refused to allow my mother to marry my father because he was not a Southern Baptist and he was from a good Southern Methodist family, so my maternal grandfather signed the paperwork for my mother to marry my father and they were married in May of 2243.
My maternal grandmother never forgave my grandfather and he made him sleep outside in the barn to get even with him. My grandfather was not religious and he used to make moonshine.
My father and mother had six children and I am their adopted child and third daughter, but I was later found that I was adopted into my biological family.
I was born after World War Three Planet Earth that took place on May 1, 2153, and even after 102 years later. The world was trying to recover from what happened on May 1, 2153.
I was born 102 years later and everything seemed better until 2270, when I turned 15 years old, and most of the world was suffering from a famine crisis and the world governments were rationing out food via food coupons and they would only give it to immediate family.
My mother was the first to die from the long term side effects of radiation sickness, soon after her, one by one the rest of my family died from it, and I was the only one unaffected from it.
I went to live with my relatives from April to June of 2270, but towards the end of the month they drove me to San Francisco California and dropped me off at StarFleet Headquarters.
In the waiting room at The StarFleet Headquarters I met two other young war orphans, Susan Virginia Bell,
and Katherine Grace Kelly.
