StarDate 2274.11.04, Kevin traveled to Madame's Boarding House today, and I was surprised to see him.
I thought he had forgotten all of us, Susan, Katherine, and me, but I was wrong, he was just busy at StarFleet Academy.
When Kevin came to see me I was with Susan in the garden at Madame's Boarding House and he was wearing his street clothes.
Kevin walks up to where Susan and I are sitting in the garden and he says "Hello Karissa and Susan. Where is Katherine?"
"Katherine is inside playing cards with Lady Isabella Collin." I answer.
"May I talk to you, Karissa, if it is possible by yourself? Kevin asked me.
"Whatever you have to say. You can say in front of Susan." I answered him.
Susan is by my side when Kevin takes me by my hand and he asks me "Will you wait for me until I return from taking my internship on The USS Enterprise, Karissa?"
I look at Kevin and I answer truthfully " How long do I have to wait?"
"Two year internship. " Kevin answers me.
"This is what year Kevin? I ask " I think it is 2274 and how old are you Kevin?
"I am 26 years old now." Kevin tells her "When I finish I will only be 28."
"I am 19 and in two years I will be 21 years old. I can't promise you anything Kevin. You are asking a lot of me." I answer.
"I love you Karissa. I know we can make a life together, but I need this internship." Kevin tells me.
"I am not going to hold you back from pursuing your career Kevin." I tell him " We all need dreams."
"Kevin. I can't see myself married to a man who is married to a career and I am not not second place only to whatever deity you believe in. I won't play second fiddle to a man's career, or job." I answer.
"Go chase your dreams and fulfill them and when you return if I am available at that time. I will give you my answer only then. " I told him.
"We will always be friends, Kevin and maybe in the future we will maybe be related to each other." I told him.
"I don't want to hold you back and ask you to place your dreams on hold just because of me." I explained
"I am in no big hurry to marry in any way." I told him.
"I wish you well, Kevin. " I told him and with that Kevin, Susan and I spent the rest of the day out in the garden.
