Chapter 19-Just What I've Always Wanted

Hazel's POV
He told me to get dress and then just walked out of the room. I have never experience that before, I really liked it.
I walked into his room to find no trace of him anywhere. Is he really going to act like nothing happened?
"Hey guys." I said walking down the stairs.
"Sup Haz." Ricky said.
"Did you see where Chris went?"
"Patio."

I walked outside into the warm air seeing Chris sitting by the pool with his legs in the water.
"You okay?" I asked sitting by him.
"I didn't hurt you did I?"
"No, I kind of liked it actually." I giggled a little and scooted closer to him.
"So what's on the agenda for the rest of the day?" I asked.
"Not sure, but we should all have a big dinner together."
"I can cook."
"I was hoping you would." He smiled at me and kissed me.
"So, what all did Annabelle tell you?"
"That your mom would sneak out of the house to earn as much money as possible."
"That's it?"
"Well no, but I don't want to make you upset hon."
"It's in the past."
"Okay, well she told me how your father would yell at her and she would yell back, and you'd sneak out to her house, you sometimes went to bed hungry and without a blanket."
"Oh.. yeah, that happened."
"But Hazel,you're here now, you can eat,sleep, do whatever basically. You're free now."
"I know Chris. I have you also. That's all I would ever need." I smiled and kissed his cheek.
"Did Annabelle talk you about anything about her past?" I asked in curiosity.
"No, why?"
"Just a thought... She had a bad past too."
"I won't ask what it is."
"It's fine, it happened back in high school."
"Well whatever it was, I'm sorry she had to go through it."
"You're the sweetest guy ever!" I kissed him and wrapped my arms around his side.

We got out of the pool and walked back inside to see my mom cleaning up.
"Mom, you don't have to do that, you have barely been here for a day."
"Yeah I know, but its the least I can do."
"Oh jesus.." I couldn't believe her. That's my mom for ya.
"So Hazel, how long have you and Chris been together?"
"For about a week now." My stomach dropped and I felt sad all of a sudden... The past week flooded back into my mind. Ghost cheating, me and him breaking up, me and Chris getting together.. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris, but I have to say, Ghost was my first true love.. But that got fucked up.
"Well that's good. Maybe he's the one."
"Oh my god mom! Did you come here to embarrass me!?"
"I'm your mom, I'm supposed to do that." She smiled sweetly.
"It's fine Hazel, who knows, maybe I am the one." He smiled at me. I just thought of it... Us getting married.
"Well, I'm gonna go upstairs and take a nap." I said leaving the living room.
I walked into our room and plopped onto the bed. I rubbed my eyes and laid down. After a few minutes, I had fallen into a deep sleep..

Chris's POV
I had to find out what Annabelle's past was. Maybe it was something worse than Hazel's. No, I don't think you could get worse than that. Well maybe, if you count murder.
"Hey Annabelle." I said walking into Ricky's room.
"Hi Chris." She said sweetly.
"Me and Hazel were talking and she brought up about how you had a bad past too. Would you want to talk about it?"
"Oh.. uh.. um. uh... Oh! Uhh... I guess..."
"Talk then."

Annabelle's POV
"Talk then." Chris said sitting on the bed.
All the thoughts came rushing back into my mind... Making me nervous. I haven't talked about my past since it happened.. My mom said to keep my mouth shut about it.
"Okay.. well for starters I was dating this guy, and he wasn't a very good guy either. And he tried to do certain things to me, and I started to fight him and he fought back and I ended up harming him... Severely."
"How severely are we talking about?"
"I killed him..."
"Wait what?"
"Yeah... I killed him by self defense. Charges were dropped, I didn't go to jail or put on parol."
"I'm sorry Annabelle."
"It's fine. Hazel is the inly person that knows other than you now. I got bullied all throughout high school, and when Hazel left, I couldn't take it."
"What happened?"
"The bullying became physical, and I got sent to a mental hospital because I was harming myself, and attempting suicide.. More than I should have."
He didn't say another word, he gave me a big hug. I felt a pain in my heart... Being here makes me feel like there is hope for me. When I found out Hazel had left, I was happy, but also depressed.. I thought I had lost my one best friend, my one sister..
"You're with Ricky now, everything is alright. You have us, and Hazel will always be with you."
"I know Chris, thank you." I gave him one last hug and he walked out.
Living at a home with food, and not dealing with yelling, or abuse is what I've longed for my whole life.. This is what I've always wanted.
A home.
