The Dragon House

chapter 4

"This place gives me the creeps",Alice voiced as we pulled into downtown S.A.A.N. Sam said nothing but stared forward with a hard look on his face."You okay Sam?",I asked."Ya i'm fine.It's like Alice said, this place is creepy"he said as he turned to smile at me.I nodded and looked towards the abandoned warehouse that was painted black.

We all stared at it a few more moments before Alice spoke."Should we go in then?",she asked.I nodded a silent yes before opening my door and stepping out into the cold damp afternoon air.My team followed my example and stepped out after me.We walked forward,forever in sync, and shoved the doors open.

"Hello Miss Emerson",greeted the vampire in front of me.He had blond spiky hair and emerald eyes that sparkled with interest."Hey River,I heard I had a mission.",I said."Yeah,Emma wants you",He reported.I raised an eyebrow.

"Emma as in 'Head Of S.A.A.N Emma'?,I quizzed."Of course.",River said.I sighed and walked down the long hallway that lead to Emma's office.I pushed open the brown heavy doors and gazed around the office.The office had mahogany bookshelves, a walnut desk and a business chair that Emma was currently sitting in.

"Hello children", said the girl with short blond hair and crystal blue eyes."Hey Em.",Sam said sitting in the chair in front of her."Sup Sam?",Emma asked as Alice and I sat in front of her also."Just kicking bad guy butt.",he replied."That's good",she said with a smile.

"Is there a reason you invited us here Emma?", I questioned with a quirk of my eyebrow."Of course",she answered,"I have a mission for you."I nodded,indicating for her to continue."You need to infiltrate this house",she said pointing to a spot on the map,"and take out this target."A screen came down and showed a picture of the target,a boy with black shaggy hair and piercing black eyes.

"That's not so hard",Alice spoke from my right."Ahh...",Emma said,"but there's two problems.1-he's powerful-" "Not a problem",Sam muttered from my left.Emma shot him a look before returning to what she was saying."-And 2-you can't go together.",she finished.

"What?!?",we all shouted at the same time."But we always go on missions together.",Sam protested."Yeah"'Alice said,"and besides were a team." "Just why can't we go together?",I asked. "Because",Emma began,"If they see you together they'll think your planning something."

"But we are planning something!!",Alice shouted."Yes but there's other reasons as well.",Emma countered."Well what is it then?",Sam questioned."Well Sam if you really must know it's a number of different reasons",she explained,"For starters they have slaves and you being a werewolf could get angry and easily shift.That and Alice is a witch, and witches are better at healing and spells not assassination."

"So that leaves me",I said,my voice cold."Well yes",she said,"you also specialize in these situations and your dragon abilities could be very useful." I sighed."So be it",I proclaimed,"But I demand to be kept in contact with my team."   "Of course",she agreed,"You can use your video watches."

I nodded and turned to leave."Oh and Breanna.",she said,stopping me."Yes?",I asked as I turned to her."I expect you to actually try.",she said with narrowed eyes."I wouldn't have it any other way.",I said with a smirk,then turned and left with my friends following close behind me.
