Chapter 20

"Autumn you're back!" Abby ran to me and squeezed the daylights out if me. Reminds me of Summer.

It had taken a total of a mouth to get me back to full health. And thank Arceus that was over.

"Yep. I'm back. And I enjoy breathing."

Abby let me go and laughed, "I'm just glad you're back! Now let's go do something. Winter, you, and I are going on a mission together tonight at 8:00 pm.

"You girls ready?" Winter whispered. We nodded.

"What exactly are we doing for the mission?" I asked. We hadn't been told what it was, so I was hoping that Winter would overcome the tension between us that had formed after that kiss, and tell me what we were doing.

"There have been intruders inside the Safari Zone. Most likely the International Pokemon Hunters. A hole in the back fence has been reported, and we are going to close it up, then we are going to catch the hunter." He said in a flat tone.

My eyes widened, "But what if Jon's there?"

Abby patted me on the back, while Winter just looked away, "Then Jon gets captured. That's the way it is Autumn. He's a Hunter. You're a Ranger. Deal with it. Ok? I know you're in love with Jon, and I can't stop that. But if it comes to it, you need to make a choice."

Abby gives me a sympathetic look and whispers, "What's up between you two lately? He's been like that all day."

I sighed, "He found out about me being in love with Jon, and he's jealous."

Abby tilted her head, "Why would he be jealous?"

"He claims he loves me. And he kissed me while I was at his house..."

"Wait. Just on the cheek or-"

"Yep."

"OH MY ARCEUS! HE DID?!" she squealed.

I slapped a hand over her mouth, "Quiet!" I snapped.

Abby removed my hand and sighed, "Sorry. It's just that... Oh my Arceus you are SO lucky! So many girls flirt at Winter, but none of them can actually get him to kiss them, even on the hand or cheek. An' look at you lucky girl. He kissed you, willingly, on the lips! Do you know how hard it is to get that?!" She squealed again and I was just about to slap her crossed the face, but I stopped myself.

"You don't understand Abby. I have feelings for Jon as well as Winter. And I'm not sure who I love more..." I looked down, and Abby sighed.

"You know, all you have to do is follow your heart Autumn." She said.

"Hey Winter? Can I go ahead? Just... Too... Um..." Had I think of a good excuss...

"Tell Jon to leave the Safari Zone before we try and catch him? Sure. As long as I don't see him here, then he's safe." Winter said. Wow. Mood swing big time.

I run up behind him and give him a big hug, "Thank you Winter! You're the best!" And I ran off.

I run for like, half am hour, when Jon comes into view.

"Jon! Jon!" I call out.

He looks to me and smiles, "Autumn! Are you feeling better?" When I nod, he smiles even bigger, "That's good. And I must say that you are here early. Not that I'm complaining or anything." He hugs me close, but I wriggle out of his grip.

"No time for that Jon. There are other Rangers here. The reason I'm early is the fact that if you don't get out of here now, you're gonna get locked up! And there is nothing I could do about it! I don't want you to locked up!" I sped through my words.

A look of panic flashed into Jon's face, "Then I need to get out of here. But can we meet up tonight?"

I shook my head, "No. I'm sorry Jon. This may not work out. You're a hunter and I'm a ranger. Maybe we need to forget about each other..." A tear rolled Down my face.

And Jon wiped it away, "It doesn't have to be that way Autumn. Don't forget, you never responded to my request. Please. Come with me! My mom would take you in if I asked her to. I would make sure you were safe, no mater what cost to me it may take."

Me? A Pokemon Hunter? The idea was tempting... I would be well protected... I wouldn't have to worry about Winter... and I would be with Jon...

The last reason was my favorite.

Jon held out his hand, "So what do you say?"

And without hesitation, I took his hand, "Yes. I'll join. And I will be your girl forever and always."

Jon grinned, "Welcome to the International Pokemon Hunters Autumn." And he took out his Abra and we Teleported out of the Safari Zone.

I'm sorry Winter. I choose Jon. And I won't be coming back from this. I'm a Pokemon Hunter now, and my Ranger life is behind me
