CHAPTER 6:OUT OF HAND

"It had been just two days since Malikai had locked Rihanna in his basement . He spent most of his time with her, bringing her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With each passing moment, Rihanna found herself falling deeper in love with him. She was still curious about why he had locked her in his basement, but the comfort and care he provided were undeniably sweet. In his absence, she would wait long periods for his return, and her feelings were a mix of confusion and affection. She was certain she loved him, even if she couldn't explain why."

Maria, Ellie, and Elliot were hanging out, enjoying some music and having a good time. However, the mood shifted when Maria received a call from 'Big Cuzzy Fiona.' She stepped away from the group and answered the call with a hint of unease in her voice.

"Maria, is Rihanna with you?" Fiona's voice sounded panicked.

Maria, growing concerned, replied, "No, I haven't seen her since Friday. What's going on?"

Fiona's voice quivered, "She didn't come home on Friday, and I thought she might be with you. She hasn't been responding to my texts or calls."

Maria's worry escalated. "She hasn't?!" She rushed back into the room, quickly gathering her belongings. "I'll be there as soon as possible," she told Fiona before ending the call.

Maria quickly explained the situation to Ellie and Elliot, her urgency evident. They decided to accompany her to Fiona's place to help find Rihanna.

As they arrived at Fiona's, they were met with a worried and tearful Fiona, who explained, "I just don't know where she could be. She's missing!"

The four of them pooled their resources, determined to piece together where Rihanna might have gone and to locate her as soon as possible. The clock was ticking, and they were focused on finding their missing friend.

Maria decided to call Malikai, and to her surprise, he answered. She rushed to ask him, "Do you know where Rihanna is?" Malikai's response was strangely calm, making Maria wonder if he still cared about Rihanna.

Shortly after, Maria, Ellie, and Elliot went to Derek's house. Ellie spoke gently, "Derek, we know you're not feeling great, but we need your help." Derek, looking tired, raised an eyebrow. Maria couldn't wait and asked, "Can you help us find Rihanna?" Derek felt bad for Maria and agreed to help. He suggested they get Malikai's help, and even though Maria had doubts, Ellie and Elliot thought it was a good idea.

They all went to Malikai's house, and when they knocked on his door, he seemed uneasy but came out. Derek didn't waste time, "Malikai, you're helping us find Rihanna." Malikai reluctantly agreed and left his house.

As they searched for Rihanna, Malikai's behavior remained odd. Elliot noticed this and kept a close eye on him, even though Malikai pretended not to notice. When night came, they felt they had checked everywhere, while Rihanna was still in Malikai's basement, reading.

Back with the group, they were tired. Ellie suggested, "Maybe we should split up to search." Everyone agreed, and Elliot decided who would go with whom. Malikai chose to go alone, despite the danger. Maria worried, "Are you sure? It's dangerous!" But Malikai said he'd be fine on his own.

He rushed back home, made a meal for Rihanna, and left her some music to keep her company. Then, he changed into dark clothes, a mask, and gloves and went out. He spotted Derek and Maria, and suddenly, he attacked Derek with a knife, making Maria scream. Malikai hurried home, changed back into regular clothes, and sat down and held the knife, he wound in his hip so he wasn't close to being a suspect. he held his breath in trying not to show any pain.

Malikai struggled to maintain his act as he sat against the wall, clutching his wound, and pretending to be weaker than he actually felt. The adrenaline coursing through his veins seemed to mask most of the pain, and he wondered if that was what made it bearable. However, he quickly pushed those thoughts aside, focusing on creating a convincing scene.
