Thirty two - Taylor

When Emma and Taylor walked in Amanda's apartment she was in the kitchen digging something out of the oven. The whole place smelled like a bakery. Cards and board games were set up on the table surrounded by random plates of finger foods. A man wearing glasses sat with another on his lap. The two were feeding each other grapes off a plate and laughing about something. Another man walked out from one of the bedrooms and wrapped his arms around Amanda as she took brownies out of the oven.

Emma grabbed Taylor's hand and turned around with a disgusted look on her face. "I feel like I'm required to be touching you to be in this room."

Amanda pushed the man away from her with a laugh and sat the brownies on the stove. She walked over to Emma and they had some kind of conversation with their eyes before Amanda actually said something out loud. Mateo smiled and stuck his hand out for Emma to shake. Emma hesitantly stuck hers out too. "I'm so glad you two made it. This is my boyfriend Mateo. Mateo, this is Emma and Taylor. And those two over there are Noah and Jack."

The other two men, Noah and Jack, got up and came to join the conversation. Emma went to shake one of their hands but he pulled her into a hug instead. "I've heard so much about you, Emma. I'm Noah. This is my boyfriend, Jack."

"Great to meet you all. Ready to get your ass kicked?" There it was: the extremely competitive part of Emma that came out every time they played a game as insignificant as flip a coin. They had talked about a game night maybe not being the best idea of when to meet Amanda's boyfriend and new roommate, but Emma had insisted that it wasn't going to be an issue at all. Maybe it wouldn't, or maybe this will be their first and last meeting. Everyone nodded and started to make their way to the table. "I think I'm just going to snag a brownie first if that's alright. Is it alright, Mandy?"

Amanda's eyes went wide and she reached out to grab Emma's arm before she had a chance to move. "I think it might be best if you stick with the cookies."

"Okay. Are you saving them for something?"

"Yes." Amanda nodded and kept her hold on Emma's arm. They started walking towards the table but Emma stopped halfway.

"Are you lying to me?"

"I am."

"I'm getting a brownie." Emma yanked her arm away and went back for the brownies in the kitchen. Amanda ran after her and shoved the pan away from her. Amanda whispered something in her ear and her eyes went wide. Taylor couldn't help but laugh. "You made edibles?"

"I told you that you didn't want one."

"You're right. I don't." Emma shrugged and went back to the dining room table where the three men and Taylor were watching in enjoyment. Amanda grabbed the brownies and a knife and came and sat down too.

A game of clue had been fully set up in the middle of the table. Jack had gone back to using Noah as a seat and as trying to keep his cards to himself but failing miserably. They would peek at each other's cards and laugh and kiss. Everytime they did Emma turned to Taylor and scrunched up her nose. Emma always complained that things like this were so sweet it was disgusting.

Emma won the first round which did absolutely nothing to tame her ego. Half of the table had already had a brownie or three that was making them less focused on the game and more focused on anything else. Emma hadn't had one. Taylor hadn't figured she was going to eat one anyway, but she definitely wouldn't if it hurt her chances at winning a game. Amanda grabbed the game of life and pulled all the pieces out. "Is it okay to play this with a room full of gays?"
