Keefe Sencen

Glass shattered, people were crying out. Even my mother looked surprised. My vision clouded. I couldn't see sense. My head was pounding. Time was slowing down. I caught Sophie's eyes and she rattled on the bars of my cage before having a realisation and pulling out a gadget Dex had probably made, it clamped around the bars and they soon fell off with ease.

I, just in time pulled Sophie into my chest and she dodged a bullet that would have been fatal.

"Agh." A frustrated cry rang out.

Bullets flew and we narrowly missed them.

I couldn't hear anything but the sound of my thundering heart and then I knew what had to happen.

"Sophie." She turned at my voice

"Look at me."

"Why-Keefe, what are you going to do-"

"Listen to me. We're in the middle of something here, I know. But I need to tell you. I love you Sophie Foster. I'll love you forever. I'll never want us to end."

"I love you too Keefe." She said before the Neverseen quickly escaped their cages. But everyone was too focused on surviving they didn't mind.

"Not so fast Forkle." Jolie's voiced pierced the air. Forkle froze mid-air in a trance and dropped on the floor. The other Neverseen members looked scared, they were no older than 18.

"Get down!" I yelled to them just in time. They may be my enemies, but they were kids, just like me.

I squeezed my hand tight realising it was gushing blood.

"This won't stop until you give it up." Sophie Lavisha said. Their bodies started to reform their tricks wearing off. So much that I could see them now.

Soon they were visible enough that it was a fair fight. We'd managed to make it through and

Gisela and Forkle pushed themselves up and quickly ran away, those cowards, the rest of the Neverseen followed. Sophie Lavisha and Jolie to distracted with the Black Swan to look away.

Sophie started to talk. "Why does it matter if the Black Swan exists side by side with the Midnights. The Neverseen and the Black Swan do it all the time."

"That's because both of them are too much coward-like to make any real change in the world." Sophie Lavisha's eyes sparkled for a minute.

"I agree but-" Sophie started but was blocked as a goblin star was thrown and she moved to avoid it.

"Stop!" A new voice sounded, Ashleigh was standing next to Grady who was holding control of Sophie Lavisha and Jolie. His jaw looked clenched, not only from the concentration of mesmering two people, but seeing his daughter for the first time in a long time.

"Jolie. That's enough." His words sounded forced.

"Dad." She gritted out, trying to get in his good graces. "I missed you."

"If you missed me." He sounded sad, and got quiet and soon I felt sad. "You wouldn't have left."

"I wanted to come home. I promise, I still will if that's what you want." Her eyes gleamed with empty promises and lies.
