A/N: question before the chapter: what's something you guys would like to see/want to happen in the book? recommendations would be wonderful, I love hearing from you guys ❤️

Anri has always been a headstrong, right foot forward, kind woman. She's had insults and lewd comments thrown at her time after time, yet, she's always brushed them off. She's got a passion, and she won't let anything hinder her from her goal.

That's why she holds great respect for Ego. Like her, he brushes off others and keeps his achievements at an arms length. She sought him out for this ability, and him being a football advocate just happened to be a plus.

When he accepted her opportunity to assist in the creation a new future for Japanese football, she was over the moon. Because, with his help, it was near guaranteed that the future would turn out just positively in their favor.

And she wasn't wrong. In the short few days the teen boys had been here, they proved to have grown exceptionally. She knew that within the next few months that they would become huge.

She was glad she made the right decision calling for Ego's help. He was the solution to mostly all their problems.

But, even then, there was just one issue.

"I don't need nutrition, I have all of it in here. This is full of vegetables." Ego glared, pointing at his microwaved ramen. Anri smiled politely, restraining herself from losing it on him.

Ego. Ego was the issue.

She sighed, speaking up. "Yes, there are Ego-San. But it's not enough to keep you healthy! You need to have a balanced diet." He turned his back on her, and continued to shove the food into his mouth.

"Well, if (Y/N) was here she wouldn't be complaining." He rolled his eyes. "She would agree with me, because she's not incompetent like you." Anri stared blankly at him. 'He's pouting!' She sweat-dropped.

Thinking back to her time at the Blue Lock building, she realized that at every given opportunity, he would talk about his 'beloved, sweet, perfect, amazing daughter'. Of course, he didn't use those exact words, but from how he talked about the (H/C), you can tell how much he truly cares for her. Anri's face contorted into a frown. She knew he missed her, he just didn't want to say it.

The brunette woman got up from where she had sat and headed towards the door. She bowed respectfully. "Alright, Ego-san. Do as you wish, I'll be in the monitor room." She walked out without waiting for a reply.

She was honest about going to the monitor room, but Anri didn't tell Ego everything about why she was leaving. She felt sympathy for the man. He misses his family, and so does she. Anri recalled (Y/N) telling her about how they've never been apart for longer than a day. Hence, why she decided to make this decision.

Walking past the team's rooms, she pulled out a familiar piece of paper. On it it read (Y/N)'s name and number. Anri had never gotten the chance to put the number in her phone, so she just kind of carried it around in her wallet.

She typed the pin into her phone, labeling the contact as the teen's name. Smiling in satisfaction, she walked off, unaware that the piece of paper had dropped from her hand to the floor.

——

The woman bit her nail nervously as the phone rang. She didn't know if the teen would pick up or not, especially considering she would show up as an unknown number. Her eyes brightened when she heard the dial end.

"About time you called me, Anri-San."

She jumped. "(Y/N)?! How did you know it was me?" The voice on the other line sighed.
