Hello there! I'm Aanya Lohani, a journalist with a passion for storytelling, beauty, and spreading joy through laughter. It's not just a job for me; it's a way of life.

I've been told that my presence lights up the room, and my laughter is like a melody that brings joy to everyone around me. I can't deny that my sparkling eyes and infectious smile are part of what makes me, well, me. My raven-black hair and graceful frame contribute to the charm, or so I've been told.

I am a Kumaoni and my hometown is in Bageshwar. As a proud Kumaoni, I hail from the picturesque town of Bageshwar, nestled in the heart of Uttarakhand. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas, Bageshwar holds a unique charm with its spiritual significance and natural splendor. The town is adorned with ancient temples, echoing the rich cultural heritage that characterizes Kumaon.

I've developed an unwavering love for my rich culture. The vibrant traditions, melodious folk music, and the aroma of local delicacies are like threads weaving the tapestry of my identity. What I cherish the most, however, is the prospect of donning the traditional Kumaoni attire, especially the exquisite Pichoda and the intricate Pahadi Nath. For me, these aren't just accessories; they're symbols of my heritage and a connection to generations past. The thought of getting married isn't just about companionship; it's an opportunity to proudly carry forward the legacy of my ancestors, draped in the resplendence of Kumaoni tradition.

One thing people often notice is my quick wit and sense of humor. I have this knack for finding humor in the ordinary, turning even the gloomiest days into moments of laughter. Positivity, for me, is like a guiding light, especially during tough times.

Being a journalist is not just a profession; it's a calling. I'm driven by an insatiable curiosity that leads me to dive headfirst into the unknown, all in the pursuit of uncovering the truth. My commitment to my work is something I take great pride in.

But beyond the hustle of journalism, I'm a person who values kindness and warmth. Treating everyone with respect and care is something that comes naturally to me, and I find it easy to make friends wherever I go.

When I'm not uncovering the truth in my journalistic pursuits, you'll often find me immersed in the world of books. I'm an avid reader, and my bookshelf is a treasure trove of adventures. Whether it's the magical escapades of Harry Potter or the epic narratives from the Marvel universe, I find solace and excitement in the pages of these stories.

As much as I love living in the realm of fiction, I also have a soft spot for the real-world drama that unfolds on the cricket field. Watching a cricket match, with its highs and lows, is a source of excitement and camaraderie for me. It's a sport that brings people together, much like the stories I seek to share through my journalistic endeavors.

I love my culture and tradition and so I love traditional dresses. It's not like I am uncomfortable with Western clothes or culture; I wear Western clothes, but it's just a preference.

At home, I'm the only child, living with my wonderful parents, Ravi and Priya Lohani. My dad, a retired government schoolteacher, brings wisdom and patience to our home, while my mom, a pediatrician, fills our space with warmth. And let's not forget my Dadi and Dada Ji, who share our home, enriching my life with their stories, wisdom, humor, and above all, love.

Speaking of love, I believe that it's the thread that ties us all together. It's not just about the stories I chase as a journalist; it's about the stories we create in our daily lives, surrounded by the love and wisdom of those who matter most to us.
