I looked at Jeff. Then looked at the road. We was in the middle of an abound road. Only tall trees and grass was there. Ahead of us was just road. Nothing more nor less. I gave Jeff an uneasy look. Was he here to kill Max and I? I stood up straight ready for Jeff's attack. I kept my eye on the road and the other on Jeff. I was ready for him.
"Trust me," Jeff explained as he drives down the road. He looked both ways before running to the grass area. I gasped and reached to grab Max's shirt. I held him tightly as the car began to bounce up and down from the rocks below the car. My belly rested on a little table looking thing that sprite Jeff and I. My legs flew up almost hitting Jeff in the face. Jeff pushed my leg away as Max woke up. Max grab my arm tightly before letting out a scream. He looked scare. I gave him a small smile to comfort him. Max gave a look. A small look that scared the life out of me. He gave me the some look he gave me when Jeff attacked Ron. Max was confused and frightened. "He might see me kill a few people on the way," I frowned just remembering Jeff's voice. I didn't protect Max the way I planned. I didn't want to listen to Jeff's warning. I failed at my own personal mission. A failure that could have killed Max. The bouncing of the car stop suddenly. I turned to look behind me and saw a long road.
"Other road?" I asked still puzzled. I let Max's shirt go but was still on my belly.
"No," Jeff stated. I looked back at Max and gave him an air kiss (a kiss to the air). Max gave me an air kiss back. I winked at Max and made my way back in my seat. Jeff put his hand on my leg after I sat down. He was searching for a scar. Jeff acted like nothing had happened. But I knew better. Jeff could attack in any moment.
"I NEED TO GO PEE!" Max yelled before kicking Jeff's seat like a manic. Jeff let out a small growl but said nothing. I gave Max a warning look for using his outside voice. The last thing I need right now is to hear Jeff and Max fight. Jeff touch my knee before giving up on searching. All week he tried to look for a scar but couldn't find the ones he already found. His hand rested on my knee. I watch the road waiting to see a house or shed. I don't know anything at this point. I looked back at Max. Max was holding his pants and gave me a worried frown. Jeff began to speed up. All of us seem to be in slow motion. Jeff looked back behind us before letting out a small chuckle like he got away with some thing.
"What?" I questioned. Jeff looked at me before shaking his head. Jeff didn't answer me so I kept quiet. We kept driving down the road before hitting a few dumps. I looked in the front mirror to see Max looking back at me. We kept looking at each other. I looked back at the road and slowly a house began to show. A large house that can fit about ten people. A room for everyone. I looked at the house with surprise. The roof was flat but looked fancy. I stood up straight and pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. The roof had black roof tiles that matched the white painted building. The building had two floors, each side of the house had a balcony. I was speechless. Max gasped and pointed at the house.
"THATS BIG!" He yelled and began to bounce up and down which made the car jerk a little to the left.
"Sit down," Jeff commanded. Max sat down and just looked at the house. We both couldn't believe Jeff lived in a house so elegant. Jeff parked near a tree and hopped out of the car. Max unbuckled while Jeff swung open the car and carried Max to the house. Max laughed. I followed them. The house was a mess. Garbage littered the floor while an awful smell rose from who knows where. Max laughed before hearing a door slam. The house was different from Mary's. There was a wall that lead to a small kitchen while the living room had two shut doors on each side of the rooms. I felt like I was in a maze. I guess I was in a maze in real life. One long lane leads to a dead end as other lane opens for a new opportunity. Maybe this is what Jeff planned. Jeff walked down the left side of the living room stairs. He looked at me before glaring.
"Grab the suitcases," he commanded. I rolled my eyes.
"You got two legs," I crossed my arms.
"You are in my house," I smirked.
"I didn't have to come here until-"
"Until you killed Mary," Jeff shot back. A little part of me just broke off into the floor. So, he wants to fight does he?
