Draco's POV
Tonight's the night — the night I'm getting the Dark Mark.

"Now Lucius, is young Draco aware of your decision?"

I feel my father's hand grip my shoulder and I get up to follow the Dark Lord into a separate room.

Pain and numbness. That's all I felt.

"Keep your sleeve rolled up for everyone to see. Welcome to the Death Eaters young Draco."

I walk out, my eyes remain planted on the floor. I understand why I had to do this. I hope this makes father even a little proud of me. I mean, that's all I want.

The Dark Lord calls on Theo, Blaise, Greg, and Vince into the same room; however, neither of them comes out with the Mark.

I start to get a bored and lost in thought, but I refocus on what's happening as I hear Professor Snape say, "The first option, my lord."

Oh Salazar, I hope Y/n won't be wrapped in it...

Taken off guard by the next few words: "And I choose Draco Malfoy." My heart starts to beat faster. What does this have to do with me?!

Just as I thought this night couldn't get any more wild, the Dark Lord's words fill the room. "I wasn't actually going to give you a choice, Severus... From this point forward, Draco Malfoy will be betrothed to Y/n. Snape.. Sayre, my distant pure-blood granddaughter."

My eyes immediately snap toward the Y/h/c beauty's direction. That was one sentence of a bombshell. Y/n's face remains expressionless, but I could only imagine how she's truly feeling right now...

**

I can't sleep — my mind is clouded with thoughts of Y/n. I know we aren't that close, but I still care and worry for her.

Just when I'm about to close my eyes, I hear a door click. Quickly getting out of bed, I throw on my night robe. I wait a couple of seconds before opening my door. And I see Y/n's shadow walking down the hall. Without a second thought, I follow her.

Just my luck, the floor creaks beneath my foot once I enter the library. She turns around, and our eyes meet. But before I could say anything, she turns her attention back to the shelves of books.

"What are you looking for? Maybe I can help."

Once Y/n asks for our family's copy of Nature's Nobility, I reach for her hand and make my way to the private sector of our library. I notice my hand was much larger, but like a puzzle, it was as if hers fit perfectly in mine.

Pointing over at a nearby sofa for her to sit, I make my way over to a nearby cabinet. I grab the book and hand it to her. Y/n immediately starts flipping through the pages.

Knowing that she hasn't eaten or even drank anything in 24 hours, I quietly head to the kitchen. Once I return, I hand her the cup of tea and place the snacks on the table.

"Thanks, Dray."

Y/n's voice was enough to make me giddy. And her looking up at me with those beautiful Y/e/c and precious smile of hers — oh what is this girl doing to me.
