It was Eliana Laurelle Foster-Sencen (Ruewen)'s first day at Foxfire Academy. She was really nervous as she was starting in the middle of the year for Level 2. Her blue uniform was straightened, her blonde hair was brushed and put into a neat plait, she even wore her blue contact lens for her right eye. She pinned her family crest onto her cape, tucked securely under her plait before shoving on her black school shoes, heirlooms from her mother.

Speaking of her mother, she popped up from behind her. "Sweetheart, make sure you have everything you need, timetable, your medicine bottles, your registry pendant, your nexus, your leaping crystal, you know." She flicked out an eyelash and blew it away. Eliana shuddered. "Stop doing that, Mom. I'm fine, seriously. You know I have the essentials."

Sophie Foster sighed. "Alright. Make sure you don't visit Elwin on the first day," she joked. Visiting the Healing Centre was a tradition in the family. Eliana rolled her eyes. Even though she had been sick for most of her life, she was determined to not go to Elwin today. She ran to the Leapmaster 500 and yelled, "Foxfire!" A single crystal created a beam of light for her to step into.

The glass pyramid, which was also her new school, gleamed brightly with the sun, the point looked sharper than it had on her tour. Not wanting to attract attention, (not like she wasn't going to, being the daughter of the well-known Sophie Foster who has a lot of abilities and the famous Keefe Sencen who was the proud detention-record holder of the century, and starting in the middle of the year) she scurried to a locker in the Level 2 wing and licked the silver DNA strip (which she thought was highly unsanitary) that tasted of mallowmelt which was good for the first day. Grabbing her books, she stuffed them quickly into her bag, shut her locker tightly and practically ran to her first class.

She currently had 3 abilities. 1: Polyglot, 2: Psionipath, 3: Mesmer. She kept 2 and 3 hidden at all times, not wanting people to bully her into doing things. Eliana ducked her head as she entered her first class, Psionipath training. Her mentor, Lady Aliton (I'm just making this up bro), was surprisingly nice to her and taught her how to shield blue forcefields for a longer time. Eliana managed for 5 seconds which, apparently, was an achievement for 'someone as young as her'.

Eliana's lesson ended slightly early 'for you to get to know your way to the cafeteria' and she ran, again to the cafeteria, grateful that she memorised the school layout with her inherited photographic memory. She nibbled on the end of an umber leaf and dug out a book she had borrowed from the library on her tour. She heard footsteps. "Hey, what are you doing at my table?" said a slightly high-pitched voice. Eliana looked up to see a blonde haired girl with tiny braids in her hair that glinted gold. Her periwinkle blue eyes narrowed and Eliana ducked her head, grabbed her bag and scurried out of her seat, ready to run into the library. The girl caught her arm. "Woah there, slow down. Come and take a seat. You're new, right?" Eliana nodded and breathed a tiny sigh of relief as they sat down opposite each other.

The girl stuck out her hand. "Lyndsey Aurelia Diznee. No nicknames. Not Lynd, not Sey. Nice to meet you. My parents are Dex Diznee and Marella Redek. You might've heard of them. I usually introduce my parents because there is a higher chance of you recognising them than me." Eliana allowed herself to smile briefly. "I'm Eliana Laurelle Ruewen." She tended to go with her grandparents' name as she got enough attention already. Lyndsey grinned. "I've heard of them. So you're Foster and Sencen's kid? Cool. My parents were friends with yours." Eliana didn't expect Lyndsey to know her grandparents so she blushed and nodded. Lyndsey opened a can of flavoured air, took a deep breath and offered, "Want some?" Eliana shook her head.

Lyndsey sighed. "If you must know, my dad's a Technopath. My mum's a Pyrokinetic. I only trust you because our parents were friends." Eliana muttered, "Great." Lyndsey continued. "I live at Dawnmeadow. (Sorry I'm making up all the new place names. It's hard u know!) Besides, did you know that you're the new talk of the school? Everyone's trying to get a glimpse of you. You're unlucky because we have PE and that's with the whole school. They're going to stare at you so I suggest you dye your hair."

Eliana muttered something about annoying friends, Lyndsey laughed and hooked her arm through Eliana's as the bell rang. "Can't wait to see you embarrassed!"
