Autumn’s POV

I woke up as my alarm rang near my ear, earlier than my usual time. Today, I had to go shopping for the engagement. I was quite surprised when they came home last night and announced that Jia was getting engaged.

As the oldest sister, I carry a lot of responsibility, acting as both a sibling and a parental figure. Even if we informed our parents, I knew they wouldn’t pay much attention. I also knew Misoo would help out if I told her I couldn’t handle everything. She has a protective personality, which is why I sent her to bring juice last night. She often lets Jisu handle things but always supports her in the background. Misoo also checks in with me to make sure everything is going smoothly, and I’m sure she’ll come to me today to talk about the event.

I did my morning routine, took a shower, and changed into jeans and a T-shirt—perfect for shopping and comfortable. I went downstairs to see Misoo and Jisu already awake, drinking their coffee. Each of us has a different taste in coffee. Misoo likes lattes, but I prefer black coffee, and everyone else has their preferences, too.

Misoo was already ready to go, but Jisu wasn’t. “Jisu, are you not coming? Why aren’t you ready yet?” I asked.

“No, unnie, I’m not coming. I have a new dress I bought recently and haven’t worn yet, so I’ll wear that,” Jisu said.

I felt something odd about it because I didn’t remember any dress she might be referring to. “Okay… are you sure you’ll be alright staying here alone?” I asked.

“Yeah, I’ll prepare the house for the event and handle the food,” Jisu replied.

“No, I’ll take care of the food. We can order it from Mono—I have a VIP membership there,” Misoo added. Jisu nodded. When did she get a VIP membership there? Anyway…

The other two came downstairs after getting ready. I could see the happiness and excitement in Jia’s eyes, and I was happy that she was happy.

“Jia, do you want to inform Mom and Dad? If you want, I can let them know. If you don’t want to, then that’s fine, too,” I offered, as it was her choice—her day to shine.

“I don’t think I want to, unnie. You know what they did to us, right?” Jia replied, a hint of sadness in her voice. I just nodded in agreement. We had breakfast and got ready to head out. Misoo and I were in my car, while Jia and Daisy took Misoo’s.

As expected, Misoo asked me about today’s event, and we had a serious conversation, talking like the older siblings we are. I drove this time, as she usually drives to drop us off. Misoo, Jisu, and I each have a car, but Misoo usually drives us because my car is older—it was given to us by our parents, so we don’t use it much. Jisu’s car was provided by her company, as she often has to travel for work. Misoo bought her car last year, as she earns the most among us from her job and freelance work.

When we arrived at the mall, we went straight to find Jia’s dress, as she needed to look her best. We bought our dresses and other things needed for the event, like her jewelry. The event was set for the evening; the others would come home around seven.

We got home at around 2:30 in the afternoon. The house was spotless, and everything was set up and decorated. The only things left were the engagement cake and the food. Jisu looked tired from all the preparation, so we brought her lunch to save her from cooking.

“Go shower and come back down—I’ll serve your lunch,” Misoo told Jisu, who quickly showered and returned. She was eating while we finished preparing the other things for the event.

“When will the food and cake arrive?” I asked Misoo.

“They’ll be here at six,” Misoo replied as she arranged the glasses.
