Day 293 SK
Location: Felucia system
0600 hours"Thank you again, General Plo," I tell him. The General nods at me and Comet, who stands slightly ahead of me to my right.
"Just promise me you'll be careful, you won't let yourselves be seen in your clone armor, and you'll keep in touch," he replies.
He briefed us on this twenty minutes ago, but I salute him anyway. "Yes, Sir."
Comet does the same and we climb into the ship. Excitement flares in my stomach as I walk up the ramp. I finally got special permission from General Plo and Commander Wolffe to gather supplies so I can make paint for clone armor, since my own armor is still a blank white. Comet agreed to take me to get supplies after a little persuading (it helped that I promised to cover his cleaning shifts for a week).
Peg runs up beside us, and I give him a good scratch between the ears as he sits dutifully beside me. This will also be good practice before taking him on missions with us. General Plo waves goodbye as the door shuts, and I wave back at him.
Sinker suggested a nearby rainforest planet with a small human population. There should be plenty of things to grind into paint in the rainforest, and anything we're missing we can get in town.
"I hope you're ready for this," Comet says, flicking switches and grabbing the steering toggles. I buckle in the copilot seat beside him, flipping a switch. I specialized in piloting on Kamino, and Warthog still takes me out to practice sometimes.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I reply. "Thanks for taking me, Comet."
"No problem. Tup said they've been needing more paint, anyway."
My eyes are on the starry sky in front of us as we jump briefly into hyperspace. Traveling like this, it only takes us a few minutes to get to the planet. We land just inside the small town, where there's a small fee, but General Plo didn't mind covering the costs.
We go ahead and change into some basic tunics, to blend in a little more and hopefully avoid trouble. I carry a bag for ingredients over my shoulder, and a machete on my waist. I didn't think my rifle would do much in the rainforest, so I decided to leave it in the barracks.
I follow Comet off the ship, where we pay the docking fee to an old man.
"So what's your business in a place like this?" He asks, tipping his straw hat up to look down at me and Peg in confusion. A white wolf sticks out like a broken thumb in a place like this.
"Our business is our own," Comet replies. The thing about the Wolfpack is that they aren't the nicest. They warmed up to me eventually, but mostly only looked out for me because it was their job. I know they're nice, but they don't exactly come across that way. I see this register in the old man's face as Comet replies.
"Alright, alright, was just askin'. We don't get many visitors," he mutters, counting credits. From there, we pass through the small corner of town we're in and into the rainforest. Peg follows behind us, smelling whatever he can find.
