I held my phone to my ear with my shoulder with my lanyard tangled around one hand and my S.H.I.E.L.D. wallet in the other. As I closed the door of my sleek, black, S.H.I.E.L.D. issued car with my foot, I found myself in a terrible situation.

"Damnit," I groaned looking at the pull door in front me, rearranging the miscellaneous items I held in preparation to pull open the door.

"Marrese you're on speaker,"  I heard Natasha's voice warn me in my ear.

"Right, sorry," I mumbled. I switched my wallet to be held by my armpit and pulled the door to the coffee shop open with my free hand.

There wasn't a line to the register so I wasted no time as I dropped all of my stuff on the counter. I brought my phone to my ear again, with my hand this time.

The second my phone touched my ear, I heard the stern voice of Natasha, "Change of plans Marrese, pick up Rogers, he's probably running more laps on his usual path. Fury assigned a mission and we leave in an hour. Get to the Triskelion." She ended the call saying no more.

I gave the curious barista an awkward smile, "Sorry, duty calls!"

As I got back into my car the dashboard immediately lit up. A hologram popped out from my dashboard, "Hello Ms. Marrese, where are you headed?"

"Hi, I need to pick up Steve Rogers, he should be running his usual route."

The hologram dissapeared and a map flashed onto the dashboard. I backed out of my parking spot and drove along the quiet road. Going on a mission at 5 in the morning with no caffine was not ideal.

I found Steve talking to a man in the park. Stopping the car, I rolled down my window, smiling, "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood isn't it, Mister Rogers?"

He raised his eyebrows at me, shaking his head with a smile. The man he was talking to politely waved at me.

"Morning. Addyson Marrese," I introduced myself.

"Sam Wilson. Pleasure," He smiled at me.

"Sorry to interrupt your run but...we've got to go," I said, gesturing for Steve to get in the car.

"All right Sam, duty calls. Thanks for the run, if that's what you want to call running," Steve chuckled, offering his hand for Sam to shake.

"Oh that's how it is?" Sam raised his eyebrows at Steve, accepting his handshake.

The two exchanged a few more words and then Steve got into the car. I immediately routed us to the Triskelion.

His brows furrowed, "You didn't send me a briefing message."

Keeping my eyes on the road I replied, "I know, Fury just assigned this mission. I haven't been briefed yet." I shrugged my shoulders.

Being Fury's retired assistant and now one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top agents, I was always one of the first ones briefed on any mission. I felt a rising feeling of uneasiness, I was never unprepared. As my grip on the steering wheel tightened, I accelerated the car.

"Looks like we'll see soon," Steve said as he looked out his window.
