Never had I ever considered the possibility of being a prisoner to S.H.I.E.L.D. Though I knew I posed a threat, I had never thought to consider the fact that extra measures had been taken to ensure that if I was ever in custody, I would stay in custody. I looked down at the bulky box in my lap, my hands were cuffed and then placed inside a box lined with an electromagnetic field; any time I tried to create light, the energy created by the field cancelled it out.

"He looked at me like he didn't even know me," Steve mumbled, staring mindlessly at the ground.

"How is that even possible? It was, like, 70 years ago," Sam said.

"Zola," responded Steve, "Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43. Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall. They must have found him and..."

"None of that's your fault, Steve," Natasha muttered, her eyes were on the verge of closing. The bullet in her shoulder became more intolerable for her by the second.

Steve lowered his head, "Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky."

I nudged his knee with mine and his head turned an inch my way. It saddened me to see him like this: distraught and betrayed.

Natasha leaned her head back against the side of the van, Sam glanced her way before raising his voice slightly, "We need to get a doctor here. If we don't put pressure on that wound she's gonna bleed out here in this truck."

I was startled by the flicker of electricity, a warning from the guard sitting beside us. Annoyed, I continued to try my powers again and again, disappointed to see the yellow flicker die out in less than a second each time. I felt Steve watching my hopeless attempts. Both of our heads turned at the sound of fighting.

One guard fell to the ground and we watched the other closely. "Ah," panted Maria Hill, tearing the helmet off of her head, "That thing was squeezing my brain."

We all simply stared at her, as she caught her breath, her eyes scanning across us before landing on Sam, "Who's this guy?"

"Sam Wilson," he introduced with a nod, "Nice to meet you."

"Likewise," she responded before removing everyone's handcuffs, stopping at me. With an eyebrow raise, her eyes met mine, "You know, I saw this in the labs a while ago and I never would have guessed they were for you."

I offered her a small smile and shrugged, "Makes me feel special," I joked.

She jammed the taser into a small opening in the box, disabling the force field. Then, with the quick flick of my wrist, the box exploded. I looked down at my hands, pleased to see my abilities working again.

Maria knelt to the floor, "Marrese can you get us out of this thing?"

I nodded, charging my hand and placing it gently on the ground, burning a hole through the bottom of the car. Everyone watched as the metal beneath us slowly melted away. I used my second hand to speed up the process and the ground was exposed in less than a minute.

"We go at the next light, Natasha first," Maria commanded and everyone nodded. Though Steve was the Captain, we all owed it to Maria to follow her orders after everything she had done for us.

She pulled something from her pocket, a GPS I assumed, and then returned it, "We have another car waiting for us here."

Soon enough, we were in the other car pulling into an empty area off of the road. Maria exited the car and we followed. A large dam surrounded by trees stood in front of us.
