Naomi Nelson

Episode 2

Naomi's pov:
On Wednesday morning Nick was up earlier than me again I get myself ready and head downstairs. Last night me and Nick just watched movies I say that, I did he was messaging someone on his phone most of the time. I did that poster for drama club but I didn't do any homework I'll do it all tonight I've got all the homework that was due for today. I was in no head space last night im not looking forward to seeing Ben today. Me and Nick leave the house and head for Truham. When we get there we sit around the table like usual i don't see Ben and thank the lord he doesn't show up either. It gets to 8:15 and I say goodbye to Nick and head up the hill to higgs. I get there and im just about to go into form when over the pa system i hear " Naomi Nelson i know your at school I've just seen you walk in please report to the principal's office immediately thankyou." Mrs Wilson. Everyone around me looks directly at me I hate when they do this I've told them not to do this it sets me off. I walk to the office and see the receptionist she gives me a small smile i offer a smile back at her and walk into the office I see 1 woman and a girl around my age sat there. " Ahhh Naomi Nelson this is Charlotte and Jane Spring, I wanted to apologise about it being announced over the pa I completely forgot until she had said it, if you need anything at all today you can come to me at any point. I wanted you to be the one to look after Charlotte show her where everything is you are in the same classes for most things, your also in the same form. Charlotte stands up and grabs her bag off the floor she puts it over her shoulder and then Mr Longden said " you two girls should be getting to form, off you go." Me and Charlotte walk in silence until she blurts out " I knew it, your one of the Nelson twins right?" I look at her very confused before bursting out into laughter and saying " Who calls us the Nelson twins? Yes I have a twin brother Nick Nelson but he's at Truham down the road." She just laughs and says " I'm Charlie's cousin, he told me what you and your brother did for him yesterday... thank you for helping him and being there for him when I wasn't." I look at her in shock I knew I'd heard Spring somewhere " does that mean you are Tori Spring's cousin as well?" She looks at me and nods her head " Me and Charlie have always been closer than me and Tori though." We get to form and when you've had a teacher for the last 5 years and are a " teachers pet" like me you can read their expressions and head nods. For example Mrs Greenway just nods her head towards my table and that means yes she can sit next to you. We sit down in the chairs and turn around " Morning this is Charlotte, Charlie's cousin this is Darcy, Tara and Elle." " Hello it's nice to meet you two and its good to see you again Elle, you don't happen to have room for one more do you?" Charlotte. " Uhmm I don't know we're pretty packed." Darcy. Mrs Greenway starts taking registration and I turn and face front and pull out my notebook and pencil case. I offer a pencil to Charlotte and we sit there doodling until form finishes. We all start walking to Science and actually this is one class me and Charlotte aren't in together but she is with Tara so she's not alone. At the end of the day me and Charlotte say goodbye to Elle, Tara and Darcy and walk to Truham. Yep you guessed it Nick and Charlie have rugby practice. I turn on my speaker and start playing my music and start my homework from the last 2 days. About an hour later it starts pouring it down, me and Charlotte run to the shelter of the bus stop where I put away my homework and turn off my music. " This happens alot right?" Charlotte asks. " No usually they only have practice on a Monday and Tuesday so...." Naomi. My phone signals that I've got a text I take it out and look at the screen.

I'm in the car park come and wait in the car.
I grab Charlotte's hand in mine and we make a run for it i spot my mums car easily and run over " Hi mum this is my friend Charlotte she's Nicks friends cousin can she wait with us?" Naomi. " I'm not that bad both of you get in your getting soaked." Sarah. I run around the other side of the car as Charlotte gets in. " You really need to find an after school club to join on the days Nick has rugby." Sarah. " Yeah i know i need to talk to my drama teacher she's setting up a drama club, I wish Music would do an after school club." Naomi. We sit there talking about anything and everything I see Nick and Charlie stood at the gate and its stopped raining mostly so I get out of the car and wave them both over. Nick and Charlie walk over and Charlie finally see's Charlotte in the back. " You two don't live far from us right? Get in i can give you a lift." Sarah. Charlie looks as if he's going to decline. " We go that way anyway." I chime in which then seems to convince him and he climbs in next to me. " Thankyou for this Mrs Nelson." Charlie. " Boy that's way too formal Sarah please and its no bother like Naomi said we go this way anyways." Sarah. Once we drop Charlie and Charlotte off mum reminds us that she's working 8-8 tomorrow, Nick also tells me that he doesn't have rugby practice which I am grateful for. We get home and I go straight upstairs to catch up on my homework when I finish its about 8pm so I do some colouring in my colouring book until getting ready for bed.
Thursday morning:
Me and Nick do our usual morning routine and head to school for about 8am. I sit there at the benches and I am just about to get up and say goodbye to Nick when Charlotte runs upto me and asks if we can walk to school together. I say goodbye to Nick and then head up the hill with Charlotte. I go and talk to Mrs Kim at lunch and she tells me that Mondays and Tuesdays are great days for the drama club and that she will be announcing it next week. After school all 5 of us girls walk towards Truham, Tara and Darcy carry on walking home, Elle goes off with Tao and me and Charlotte wait for Nick and Charlie. I see Nick first and as he approaches I ask " Can we wait for Charlie with Charlotte?" He just nods and moves to the side, not long after Charlie comes over to us and we say goodbye and head our separate ways. I only have maths homework to do so I set myself up on the table so that I can make dinner for me and Nick whilst doing so, mum will have something at work or there will be some left. I do my maths and put it away in my bag I go to the fridge and have a look at what's in. Mum needs to do a shop but I do see mince, mushrooms and some onions. I look in the cupboard and see that we also have Spaghetti so I decode to make a spaghetti bolognase. I shout Nick down " I'm gonna do a spaghetti bolognaose but we have no garlic bread so unless your going to go the shop we go without." Naomi. Nick makes a disgusted face at me and says " I'll go to the shop we can't have spaghetti bologbase with out garlic bread thats a crime." Nick. He leaves and I start frying the mince, onions and mushrooms. Once they have browned I add the sauce and leave it simmering for a bit. I put some water in a pan and add some spaghetti and let that cook. When Nick comes back the sauce is practically done and I have my back turned crushing a clove of garlic. As I turn around I see him dipping his finger into the sauce. I smack away his hand and shout at him " That is not done yet." Naomi. This ofcourse leads to a full on food fight, I lose track of time but once we call a truce we are both covered and the kitchen looks a right mess. I plate up the food and put it in the oven to keep warm Me and Nick then decide to take a couple of pictures each before cleaning the kitchen which takes a good couple of hours. We run up to have a shower before mum comes home. I'm just heading back downstairs when mum walks in the front door. " Something smells amazing." Sarah. " There's 3 plates of food in the oven me and Nick haven't had ours yet we wanted to wait for you." I call Nick down and we all eat together. After dinner Nick says that he will wash up so I go upstairs and put on a movie until I start falling asleep so I turn off my TV and light and go to sleep.
Friday morning
Mum was working the morning shift so I locked up and me and Nick headed to Truham. I waited for Charlotte again as arranged and then we walked up the hill together. As we were walking we heard this girl screaming behind us we turned around and I saw Nellie bounding towards me. " Nellie, what are you doing here? How did you get out? I'm talking to a dog like she's going to answer me back." Naomi. Charlotte starts laughing hysterically I look at her and say " This isn't funny she doesn't even have a lead or anything im going to have to take her back home meaning I'm going to be late for the first in forever." Naomi. I start panicking and Charlotte clearly understands " Hey calm down I'll come with you." Charlotte. " I can't ask you to do that there's no point both of us getting in trouble." Naomi. " You're my first best friend im coming so it will be the first time we can do it together." Charlotte. With that she turns around and starts walking home, luckily Nellie is trained and a good girl so she just walks in between us I pray to God we don't see another dog or cat. When we get to my house I'm shocked one of the front windows has been smashed and the front door is wide open. " Guess that answers how." I mutter to Charlotte I go to walk inside before she stops me, " What are you doing?" Charlotte. " I need to go in find a way to stop people getting in through that and lock up." Naomi. " What if whoever is still in there? Me and Nellie are coming with you." Charlotte. We head in and i dont see anyone or hear anyone and nothing seems broken or damaged apart from the front window. Charlotte asks me for an old blanket that I don't mind getting ruined. I run upstairs and take one off the dog blankets pile and run back down, she then asks for a drill and 4 bolts, " I don't know if we have anything like that." Naomi. I look in the drawer where they would be and surprise we don't. Charlotte pulls out her phone and calls someone I only here her half of the conversation.
On the phone:
Julio: You're supposed to be at school.
Charlotte: I know can you come to my location i just shared with you bring your drill and bolts.
Julio: I'm on my way and you better have a good reason.
Charlotte hangs up the phone and I look at her confused. " My Uncle he's on his way he will have this fixed in no time." I don't know how but Julio and Charlotte made it secure for now and Charlotte even got us a lift back to school and someone to watch Nellie until mum or me and Nick could go and collect her. Once we explained everything to the principal he was more than understanding and even let us stay in his office until break. At break me and Charlotte went to find Elle, Tara and Darcy. Once we explained they looked at us with shocked expressions and started checking us over for injuries. I text Nick and Mum to let them know what had happened.

So late but the principal was very understanding I have to go.
School was normal after that I was worried about Nellie obviously but she was safe, mum messaged me saying she would go pick Nellie up and then come and pick me and Nick up. When bell went for home time me and Charlotte ran down the hill to Truham straight to the car park and I immediately saw mums car I ran and flung open the back door and Nellie was there I got in and hugged her tight to me. Mum was looking at me worried so I gave her a slight nod. Nick was suddenly at the other side and I looked behind me and Charlotte was gone. " She's over there with Charlie and Tori." Nick answered my unasked question Nick got in the back and we drove home. When we got home Nick and mum were shocked at how we did all this. " We had some help" I said as if it was the most normal thing In the world. Me and Nick went upstairs to see if anything was missing whilst mum tried looking for some wood/board. I found a brick with a note on saying " You've had you're warning." I run to Nicks room to show him and he has the same we run down and show mum and she asks who we pissed off. Me and Nick start explaining everything that's happened this past week. Nick and mum were arguing about something and didn't hear the knock at the door I went to answer it and saw Charlie, Charlotte and Julio stood there. " We're here to help." Charlie. " And these 2 have said that they don't need any pocket money for a month if I don't make you pay for this job so your not paying." Julio. I looked between the three of them before opening the door wide and letting them in. I cleared my throat as mum and Nick were still arguing. The kids get sent in the kitchen whilst they worked in the room. We were talking trying to figure it out and we were on Tuesday when I saw Charlie's face "Charlie..... you okay?" Naomi. He looked at me and that is when I realised he had the same look of hurt in his eyes " Ben fricking Hope" i grumbled as Nick caught on quite quickly. Charlotte just looking inbetween all of us waiting for an explanation which she didn't get. We changed the subject when mum and Julio walked in " I still can't believe Charlotte met Nellie before me your slacking Nick" Charlie said. This caused all of us even mum and Julio to laugh. " I didn't know this was going to happen I invited you round tomorrow" Nick said sheepishlqy and me and mum turned to him as this was news to us too. "I was going to tell you but then this happened" Nick said and we just nodded " Charlotte you should come too you can all hang out together its the least I can do to that Julio and Jane seen as he won't let me pay him. I kept quiet about the pocket money thing if they want to tell her they will.
Saturday morning
Charlotte and Charlie were due round soon I was running round trying to burn off some extra energy and find the things I needed. The events of yesterday were still effecting me and I don't want Charlotte to know about my ADHD. Tara and Darcy knew but not even Elle knew, Tara and Darcy were the only friends that stayed friends with me when they found out. There was a knock at the door I took a moment to compose my self and then went to answer it with Nick. He and Charlie went to play Mario Kart on the Nintendo switch in his room whilst me and Charlotte shared the same movie taste so I put on a disney movie and we watched that. We could hear Nick and Charlie in the other room laughing and it made me happy too hearing my brother laugh like that. Mum was working her last morning shift before she had 3 days off. Halfway through the movie Nick and Charlie burst into the room shouting " Its snowing are you coming out?" Me and Charlotte looked at each other jumped off the bed and ran down stairs I lent Charlotte some gloves and a scarf of mine whilst Nick lent Charlie a hoodie. We all went out on the back garden even Nellie, Nick and Charlie went off whilst me and Charlotte made snow angels and a snowman. Then Nick started an epic snowball fight. By the time we called the draw it was time for Charlotte and Charlie to go so we said goodbye to them and hung up our wet clothes mum was sat at the table it was about 4pm. Me and Nick were making drinks him a tea and me a hot chocolate. " Charlie seems like a lovely boy, when did you meet him?" Sarah. " Uhmm a couple of months ago we got sat next to each other in form." Nick. " He's very different to your other friends, you seem alot more like yourself around him." Sarah. " Do I?" Nick. " You do." Sarah. " what mum is trying to say is she approves he's not a d!ck like the rest of your mates." Naomi. " Language!!!" Me and Nick went upstairs after dinner I practiced my keyboard whilst Nick did whatever.
