Chapter 23

[Noah's POV]

Eva takes her hand, off of Izzy mouth, again-

E: NO. YELLING.

Eva grunts, through her teeth, looking pretty annoyed.

I: Sorry babe!

O: You're being quite loud yourself-

Eva in an instant, turns her head, looking straight at Owen, giving him the death glare. His eyes widen, and he turns back, to eat his food.

N: Calm down- No one seems to be looking anyway.

Eva slowly breathes in, and slowly breathes out, trying to calm herself. Izzy pats her shoulder, hoping for it to help calm her down, at least a bit more.

I look over at Cody, to see him staring at me. He's been pretty quite...

N: You okay?

He nods excitedly, smiling widely at me. I wonder why he's so happy-??

N: You sure-??

C: Mhm!

I just look confused at him, with my head slightly tilted, and my eyebrows down, trying to inspect his face, for any sort of answers.

C: Can I ask you something?

He says, snapping me back, still smiling at me.

N: Um, sure-!

C: Can I rest my head on your shoulder again??

His smile grows, my face flushes, and my eyes widen. I'm a bit surprised, by his sudden request, but quite happy about it though! My face melts into a soft smile, and I nod at him. He scoots closer to me, on the bench, and rests his head down onto my shoulder.

The rest of lunch, we all just spend talking, and eating. Gwen never came back, probably went straight to class. Can't blame her- Izzy's really something- And she's probably pretty embarrassed-

The rest of the day, went just like any other, perfectly normal. Luckily now I could actually spend the classes with Cody though!

After school we got our things, and started to head back home. On our way out of the school, we met Owen, and the three of us, walked for a bit talking, when we got to, where we had to part ways, because Owen's house was in the other direction, we said bye to Owen, and we all waved, as we headed our own way, towards my house.

Got home, and Liy had brought a friend over today. It was her best friend, Penny.

N: Hey Penny! Good to see you again!

I say crouching down, to get to her height. Penny and Liy are both 12, and they've been best friends, since they were 6, so literally half of their life-! She's our neighbor, but she was on a long vacation, for quite a while, so they couldn't see each other, for all of that time. Liy really missed her, and she's definitely happy, now that she's back. I can tell by the excitement in her face.

N: How'd the vacation go?

I say, still crouching in front of her.

P: It was so fun! I gotta tell you two all about it!

Penny grabs onto me and Liy's arm. Liy was standing right next to her, but Cody was standing right behind me, so Penny didn't even notice him- She pulls us away, and I stop, stopping Penny from dragging me further away. I turn my body, and step a bit back, so Cody becomes visibly, in Penny's vision.

N: Meet Cody. He's staying at our house, specifically in my room. Could he come too?

Penny's about to answer, when Liy cuts her off.

L (4): More like your boyfriend~

N: Liy we are not discussing this right now-

P: YES!! HE'S COMING TOO!!

Penny runs over to Cody, grabs onto his wrist, and quickly drags him over to us. Cody stumbles forward, almost falling to the ground, as Penny abruptly stops, when she gets over to me and Liy. Cody looks really surprised and shocked. Penny's quite strong, but Cody isn't that heavy, either way, making it WAY easier for her to just drag him along-!

She quickly grabs onto my wrist as well, and quickly drags us both off into Liy's room, with Liy following close behind.

They close and lock the door behind us, when we all get inside Liy's room. Penny sit's us down, on the floor, on Liy's big round pink carpet, in the middle of her room floor. Penny and Liy start whispering with each other, probably planning something-

P: Well~ I'm first gonna tell you all, all about my vacation! But after! You two gotta play with us! And we choose the game~!

L (4): Mhm!

I roll my eyes in defeat.

N: Fine-

I let out a big sigh whilst saying it, making the sigh very clear.

P: Don't whine, mister moody pants!

Cody giggles, just siting nicely, looking pretty happy and excited, whilst Penny starts to explaining her whole vacation, in GREAT detail- Good memory- I'm impressed-!

After, I don't even know how long- Penny finishes, and says.

P: Any questions?

C: Ooo, me!

Cody says, raising his hand excitedly.

P: Yes?

Cody starts asking about basically EVERYTHING, that she just said, she had done- The girls look so surprised and confused-

L (4): Jeez Noah- Does your friend never go on vacation or something-??

C: Not really-

Penny and Liy look shocked at Cody, and turn quickly, to look at each other.

P+L (4): SPA DAY!

N: We don't have a spa-

L (4): No~ But we can still relax and do ourselves up!

N: No-

P: YES!

N: What have we gotten ourselves into-

Cody looks at me confused, but also a bit upset?

C: I shouldn't have asked...?

N: No no, it's fine! I'm sure you'll enjoy it...!

I slump back up against a big unicorn plush, that Liy has in her room. I know it's a little "basic", and some people might think it's childish, and that she's "too old" for it, but it makes her happy, so who cares.
