Dearest Sweetheart Ella Mae

I received a letter from you yesterday darling and so far I have read it over many times. I'm so glad to here from you sweetheart. I didn't have the opportunity to write you at all Friday as I spent the whole morning from 0745 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in the dentist office. I did finally get all my teeth filled I thought they had been all taken care of at sampson and here they found 5 teeth to be filled. They are all filled now and a very good job. I asked about my partial plate and the dentist said he was going to see about it so he took me to another dentist and he examined my teeth and said yes he's O.K. for a plate so he took me to the captain and he examined me and said I wasn't qualified for a plate. It was only a minute or so after that the captain went out of the office and the dentist asked me my name and all information as to what barracks and etc that I was at. Then after writing it al down he said I am personally going to see if I can get you a plate just the same. He said I didn't have enough of my teeth gone to get a plate but he thought he might be able to get it just the same. He told me if he was successful I would get a phone call to come to his office and get taken care of. As yet I haven't heard form him but I hope I do Monday or Tuesday.

Friday afternoon I was working on the barracks work detail getting ready for Saturday inspection. The 1st class Petty officer appointed me as M.A. (that is Master at Arms, or in charge of all me on cleaning detail) So I was busy all the rest of the day keeping the guys working.

Saturday morning we had to swab the whole barracks and have it ready for inspection. We worked all morning and then 1st Class Petty officer told me to get two men to finish up and he said don't you do any of the work. So I said O.K. For some reason unknown to me he seems to give me a lot of breaks. I like the guy first rate but can't figure out how he gives me the breaks but I'm glad he does anyway.

At noon we were told there would be a personal inspection so everyone must dress in whites and we all did Then afterward the Chief came in and said personal inspection was off and everyone got back in work clothes and get out on the ramp to go to work details. So I put my work clothes on the same as the rest as all the barracks was clean and ready for inspection. Then as I started out the Petty officer said hold it Kristofferson you stay in the barracks with me for inspection so get back into your whites and hang around until inspection is over so I had to change again and stayed here and we visited for a couple of hours until inspection was over and then I thought I had better get busy and write my darling sweetheart a letter so here I am darling writing you a line letting you know what goes on with me these days.

Sweetheart I am real glad to know you really love me so much and think so much of me darling. I want you to know my heart and chest are filled with love for you and if I could be with you darling I'd be pestering you with Kisses and hugs more than you could stand darling. You are always on my mind sweetheart and sonny is also I'm glad everything is O.K. with you both at home. I'm sure glad darling you had 10 bucks to send to Bobby before he left as I know how fellows like that can use it and appreciate it as there are many fellows right here in our barracks who haven't even got a quarter for a haircut. I have about 7 bucks left and a week from Monday is pay day so I think I'll get through O.K. until then. If I should get to low I'll let you know but until I do you keep it at home and use it for yourself and sonny.

Darling I love you so much. You just can't realize how much. A million Kisses                                             Johnny
