Darling

Another letter to-day. The mail really comes a lot faster from Norfolk than it did from Sampson. Usually I have to get my mail after work but to-day I had to take an 1 ½ off from work and go to the dentist. I had my wisdom tooth our or rather the two wisdom teeth on the right side of my jaw. They ached all night last night and all morning so at noon I went to see Dr. Perkins. I've got a pretty sore jaw but they don't ache. So I came up home and found your letter waiting. Then I went back to work.

On the afternoon mail I got my allotment check for $80 so to-morrow I'm pay any rent, lights, your insurance check and Dick. If you want some money I'll be glad to send it. Please der don't wait until you haven't even ciggrette money before you say you need it. I have a check at the mill to-morrow.

Believe it or not I gained a pound last week. Those capsules Dr. Weiss gave me to build me up sure seem to be doing it. I feel swell now but this hot weather leaves me pretty tired at night. I can't tell you how glad I am that your feeling tops. It helps a lot not to have to worry that you're sick. But honesty I'll be a little glad to know just what youre going to do.

I'm finishing this in the morning – I just came up and Mr. Gorham told me that Ray's brother-in-law was

killed down there at Norfolk in a crash. He was a radio man on that plane that crashed down there the other day. It strikes pretty close to home when its someone you know.

Well darling its 8:15 AM so I better make tracks for the Alco. Don't forget I love you darling always

Darling

You know dear I think I'm getting pretty popular – I've had a letter most every day since you've been gone this time. Until you left I guess I didn't realize just what getting a letter meant. I know my letters aren't quite as long as your but I'm pretty tired when night comes and then I've been quite a gad about this week. I went to Bingo again to-nite but no luck. I took Johnny with me as he doesn't have to go to school to-morrow.

I didn't take any pictures of him on his birthday, darling as it rained hard when I came from work but I'm going to take some Sunday after church. We're going to go to Forest Grove to-morrow nite and get him another suite with the money he got for his birthday. So he'll be pretty well dressed for the summer.

I paid your insurance to-day. So don't worry about it. Your mother went to the falls so I had her pay it. I'm going to pay the rest of the bills to-morrow and then I'll be just about square again. I don't know what Sue wants your ring size for unless she is going to send you a ring. I have an idea that's it.

I sure helps a lot to know you were thinking of us Wednesday. I wondered all day if you were remembering too. Honestly darling I think we've been pretty lucky maybe some times we don't seem to get the breaks but these last eight years haven't really been so tough. And Johnny and I are so proud of you.

Please darling keep your pay there. I really don't need it. If I did I'd say so but I can manage. I think I'll have about $40 left out of the allotment check by the time I pay rent, lights, Boucher + Dick. So I have plenty and I worked all week this week except for 1 ½ hrs when I had my teeth pulled. I think may be next month I'll get all of the top ones out. Dr. Perkins say I can have my plate two weeks after I get them pulled. So may be I'll have a set of teeth when you get home again.
