The full time whistle blew. Australia won 2-0 against Iran. You were in the crowd with your three year old, right up against the barrier. The Matildas.
"Mummy! Where's my sign?" Izzy asks you.
You grab the sign, which was rolled up behind you, and hand it to her. You lift her up on your hip to be able to see better and not get squished from all the pushing. Everyone started to yell when any of the Matildas got close to their sections.
"Raso sign my shirt!"
"Kyra can I get a photo?"
"Steph! Steph!"
Sam! Please! Sam Kerr!"
"Caitlin!"Your daughter was screaming as loud as the other fans. When Sam started walking to your section, everyone got even louder and crazier, your child no different.
Your daughter holds her sign out to her, it reading:
"Sam! Rock, Paper, Scissors for your Jersey!"
With a bunch of hearts and glitter all around. A truly remarkable work for a three year old.
"Hello." Sam comes up to you, or well your daughter with a cheeky grin. "Wanna play for my jersey?"
"YEAH!" Izzy screams over the loud fans trying to get Sam's attention.
After a beat out of three, Izzy won, celebrating with a little dance.
"Alright. I guess you won fair and square. Come here." She lifts her out of your arms and onto the other side of the barrier.
Taking off her jersey, you couldn't help but let your eyes wonder on her form, quickly being covered up by a staff members jacket. She helps Izzy put the shirt on over the one she was wearing, making it look like a dress on her.
"Oh, don't you look so cute." With that, she runs away towards the pitch where her best friend, Harper was with her 'sisters' and mom. "Be careful!" Sam calls out to her, not getting a response. "Now, you." She turns back over to where you stood.
"What do you mean me?"
"I'm gonna lift you, okay?" Placing your hands on her shoulders, hers on your hips, she easily lifts you over the barrier. "Hi, baby."
"Hi, Honey." She gives you a peck on the lips. "I'm gonna go to where Izzy is."
"Alright. I love you."
"I love you more."
"Not possible!" You give her a smirk and a wink.
She goes back to the fans signing jerseys, posters and all, ignoring all the questions about you and your little girl, only giving a smile.
There was no doubt that people were freaking out when your interaction was posted online, even more when she posted a picture to her instagram with just '❤️' as the caption.
