(York's POV)
"He's been in there for hours." I said to no one.

"You'd do the same for Carolina," South growled.

"Maybe." I walked from the wall and back to the viewing window. Sota looked dead. Her face was pale. Usually it's not pale. Maybe it's from blood loss?

North walked in. "You gonna tell him that he should get some rest?"

"It could break his heart," I replied. "But yeah, I'll go."

I walked out of the room and down the stairs. I got a glance from Wash as I entered. Sighing, I walked over to him and I was quiet for a few minutes.

"Washington, you need to get some rest."

"I can't leave her, York. It would feel wrong." He whispered, barely audible.

"Okay. If you say so." I turned and walked out.

(Sota's POV)
Pain was the first thing I felt. My eyes widened at the feeling and I gasped.

"Sota, calm down!" I heard Washington's voice.

"Did... did I succeed?" I faintly remembered landing. "Nevermind. Hey, I.. I kept my promise." I smiled a little to Wash. I think he smiled back.

My leg felt different. I think it was the one that a bullet went straight through. I moved it. 'Why is heavy?' I moved my blankets and I saw metal. I looked at Wash like 'what the hell did they do to me?'

"It's a metal protector thing for your bullet wound. When you don't feel any pain when you run, you can take it off." He explained.

"So I'm half robot," I blinked.

"No... well, maybe. But that makes you all the more awesome!"

I looked around. "How long have you been here?"

It was Wash's turn to look around. He focused on a wall. "Umm... Ever since they said I could come in..."

"How long ago was that?"

"Three days ago... I was worried, alright?" Wash sounded embarrassed.

"Hey, it's okay. Have you slept?"

He looked down. "No."

I gave him a hard stare, as hard as I could with my brown eyes. "Get some sleep. There's no need to worry about me."

He began to speak when North, York and the Director came in. I tried to stand in respect of the Director, but my leg screamed at me.

"My apologi-" I started.

"I thought you were dead, Agent Minnesota." The Director barked.

"Th-that was the plan, Director. W-we didn't let you know so it'd be mo-"

"Let me know what?" He walked to the end of my bed and stared me in the face.

"That I was going to b-be gone for a month to find th-the whereabouts of Sarcophagus B, Director. I joined the UNSC and fed them lies about us." I tried to keep a straight face, but I can't take so much anger.

Then the Director seemed calm. He even laughed a little. I looked to the other three nervously. Why was he laughing?

"Amazing. I was outsmarted by my best Freelancer." Then he walked out.

"That was strange," North said after a moment.

"Mhm. Anyway, we should let her rest. Get well soon." York nodded to me and walked away. North clasped me on the shoulder and walked away also. It was me and Wash.

"Get some rest, Wash. I can handle," I told him.

"Fine. But I'll be back."

As he left, I smiled. I swear, Wash can make any day brighter.
