(Sota's POV)
We lined up in the bay, sorted by teams. I shot a glance to Tex, then to Wash. I don't want to have to do this to him, but I have to. Project Freelancer is taking a turn for the worse, I can feel it.

Team Bravo loaded onto their ship. It'll get them there faster than ours will.

"Hey, good luck," I called to them.

California looked at me. "Don't worry about us, worry about you."

I nodded as he entered. Good kid, Cali. Maybe he can take my place...

We boarded ours. Carolina sat where she usually does. That's okay. I like being back here.

Silence filled the ship except for the two up front. I felt something on my hand, but it was just Wash. He squeezed it.

"I'm nervous, Sota," he whispered.

I squeezed back. "Me too."

We returned to being silent. Soon, Earth came into view.

Wash looked at me. "H-hey Sota, I just wanted to sa-"

Carolina cut him off. "Prepare for landing. T-minus ten seconds."

I looked at Wash. "You can tell me later, I promise."

He relaxed and we got ready. I turned to the two teams.

"Prepare for gun fire. Help shoot with Bravo until they can get us in. Ready... set... FREEFALL!" I jumped out of the end of the ship. Looking back, I saw everyone but Alaska jump.

"C'mon Alaska! You can do this, trust me!"

"I-It's so high up..." He said nervously.

"I'll fall with you. Jump quick!"

He jumped and screamed. I used my rocket boots and got under him. I slowed him down a little. "Pull.. the... cord!" I said. Gravity is strong.

Alaska did just that and he floated down. "Get my gun ready?"

"Yeah. Joined B in shooting." We landed and did just that.

Soon South yelled, "Let's get them in!" We were under fire, but no one got shot. 'We do have good people on the team' I thought.

"York, get us access to get in!" I barked.

"Got it." He half-ran over to the door. "Give me a minute."

"Use each second wisely." I replied.

"Got it! Go in, it'll only stay for a few!" York yelled over the gunfire.

The Alphas ran in. I was last. Just in time, too.

I looked at everyone. "Grapling hooks ready?"

Nods came. I held mine in the air and shot it. It got caught on a rail. "Shoot any enemies you see. Stop at level 78." I held my assault rifle in my right hand. "See you guys up there." I clicked the button on the hook and I flew upward.
