STEVE'S POV

I ran as far away from Fury's office as I could while Acadia screamed at me for taking me away from her dad. I shut the door of my room and set her down.

“Look, Acadia, your daddy's going through a bit of a tough time right now, and it's best if we stay away.” I said, sitting down on the couch in my room beside her. She was curled up into a ball, crying. I hugged her and tried to calm her down.

“Uncle Stevie?” She said, muffled by my shirt.

“Yeah sweetheart?” I replied, stroking her hair.

“What happened to Daddy? What is it that he turns into?” Acadia asked. I sighed.

“When your daddy gets really angry and can't control it, he turns into something called the Hulk. He didn't want you to know, just to keep you safe.” I said, pulling her into my lap. She was small for her age, and fit perfectly in my lap. I could hear sirens wailing and people running past my door.

“Stay here for a second.” I said as I set her back on the couch and stood up. I ran out into the hallway, colliding with Tony.

“Tony! Okay, Bruce is after Fury and..” I trailed off, trying to weigh the different outcomes of the situation if I told him about Acadia. I sighed. Forget it.

“And Bruce's daughter is here with me.” I finished. Tony just stared at me.

“Banner doesn't have kids, Steve. We would know.” He said, putting his helmet on.

“Well you're wrong, Tony. He has a daughter named Acadia Rose, she's ten years old and she just saw her father turn into a giant green monstrosity. I have to stay with her. Can you guys manage without me?” I explained and he just nodded.

“You go keep her safe and calm. We'll handle Banner and Fury.” He said, the eyes of his helmet lighting up. I stepped back into my room, where Acadia was nowhere to be seen.

“Acadia?!” I called. Her brown hair poked out from my closet.

“I'm in here, Uncle Stevie.” I walked over to the closet and opened it, crouching down.

“What are you doing in there?” I asked. Acadia's eyes stared back at me.

“The sirens..” Was all she said. I sat in the closet with her, and she burst into tears again. I put my arm around her shoulders, then covered her ears. She buried her face in my shirt and I kissed the top of her head.

“Everything'll be alright, Acadia.”
