Bruce's POV:
(Modified Ace's age a bit. She's around 6 or 7)
I finally came back to my senses, long after I had destroyed a great deal of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I was given some clothes by Tony, as mine all ripped to shreds. My mind instantly switched to Acadia, who was probably scared out of her mind right now. I stopped into the meeting room where I knew there was a clock so I could check the time. It was 10ish when we got here, and was now closer to 3:00. I remembered that Steve had my little girl and hurried into his room, but they were no where to be found.
“Steve? Ace?” I called. Steve stepped out of the closet.
“Shh, she's sleeping. How you feeling, Banner?” He whispered. I looked down.
“Sorry. How scared was she?” I asked, not sure if I wanted the answer. Steve sighed.
“She was pretty scared, but was more angry with me for taking her away from you. Fury screwed things up, didn't he?” He asked. I nodded.
“Damn right he did. She probably thinks I'm a monster now.. Can you give us a minute, Steve?” I asked quietly. He nodded and stepped out of the room. I walked over to the closet and gently lifted Acadia out. She woke up slightly when I set her on the couch.
“Daddy?” She mumbled. I smiled at her.
“Hi Angel. Are you okay?” I asked her, hoping she was. She nodded and sat up, launching herself into my arms.
“Hey, it's okay.. I'm sorry that I scared you, but.. that.. happens sometimes. Only when I get angry.” I said, stroking her hair. Acadia refused to let go of me, and I really couldn't blame her.
“Did Uncle Stevie help you?” I asked. She nodded again.
“Yeah.. The sirens were really loud, Daddy.. Did anyone get hurt?” Acadia asked quietly, muffled by my shirt.
“No, everyone's okay.. They're all safe. C'mon, let's get out of Uncle Stevie's room, okay?” I picked her up, despite the fact that she could walk on her own. I liked having her close so I knew she was safe. I walked out of Steve's room and mouthed the words 'Thank you' to him. He waved it off and we continued on down the hall, back to where everyone else was bound to be waiting for answers.
