Hermione and Ron raced down the stairs towards the boathouse, practically flying on adrenaline and fear.

"Do you think they're still in there?!" Ron shouted to Hermione while their footsteps pounded over the stone staircase.

"Mr. Malfoy said they should be! I heard him talking to his wife!" Hermione cried back as they both made it to the landing.

The bloodcurdling scream that rang out stopped them in their tracks as their eyes widened  in fear.

"AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!"

"What was that?!" Ron asked in little more than a whimper.

"It sounded like Harriet!" Hermione gasped.

They practically fell over each other in their rush to launch themselves forward and reach the door.

Hermione grasped the metal knob first and yanked it open to see to-

A startled gasp escaped her lips.

Ron felt the blood drain from his face.

Inside the boathouse, there was no Dark Lord or massive python to be found, only Harriet leaning against the windows, panting for breath as she held her belly while Severus and Draco flurried around her.

Ron froze but Hermione raced forward and cried out, "Harriet!"

Severus glanced over his shoulder as Harriet and Draco looked up too.

"What's the matter?! What's happened to her, Professor?! Why is she here and not back in bed?!" Hermione cried.

Severus bit back the frustration that swelled in his heart as he worried for his daughter.

Her reckless actions had served him well.

The deep wounds Nagini and Voldemort had carved into his neck with her razor sharp fangs had already healed.

"The baby's coming!" Draco answered for Severus as he looked up at Hermione, "Go and get Madam Pomfrey, won't you, Granger? Hurry up! Bring her here so-"

A deep, low moan from Harriet interrupted him as all three moved to ease her suffering.

Standing by the door on the other side of the room, Ron already felt light-headed.

"RON! GO!" Hermione shouted.

After a series of short, violent nods, Ron turned and raced up the stairs, back towards the castle, ready to dodge through the fray and find the person his best friend needed most.

Unfortunately, no one could bring Harriet who she wanted.

"W-Where's Tom?" She panted as she sank to the floor, eased down gently by Hermione, Severus, and Draco.

"Let's not worry about that right now, Harriet. We've got other matters to tend first, alright?" Hermione soothed while she brushed her friend's hair out of her face.

Severus's dark eyes narrowed as another low groan from Harriet warned him of the urgency of the situation.

As he glanced between Draco and Hermione, he realized the mortifying experience that would have to take place as he found his daughter in desperate need of assistance with only two other scared children present besides himself to help.

"Harriet," Severus said calmly as he looked into her eyes.

The word seemed odd to Draco and Hermione, having never heard Professor Snape address his children by their first names during any of their Hogwarts days.
