Chapter 7 Treehouse and Horses

When she woke up a few minutes before her alarm went off. She sighed rubbing her eyes tired. Getting up she threw on some overalls and ran down the stairs. It was only 6am, she had to look again, yep 6 so there was still food, and as she came down, she wasn't sure when Cassie was coming though.

She paused at the door she took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen. Luke and everyone there smiled wishing her good morning.

"When is Cassie coming today?" She asked as she sat down. Luke who was sipping his coffee smiled softly at her. Taking in her messy hair.
"Clay has to pick up some stuff from town for us and then they will be over, around lunch I think or sooner."
"Kay,"
"Though you have homework, this morning go on and do it."

"Austin had me do it last night so I didn't have to do it today," Penny said looking at Austin with wide eyes feeling that he lied to her.

"I did tell her that," Austin said.

"Okay that's good," Luke said turned to look at Penny.
"How about we show you around more since we haven't been able to give you a grand tour of the ranch aside from the house and pouting out the barn mainly," Austin smiled.

"Okay," Penny said unsure. Everyone started talking about the day ahead. Penny felt left out now since she didn't know what half of the terms they used. She started playing with the eggs on her plate. Trying to learn but she kept getting more discouraged. She did understand one word pregnancy. So, she paid a little more attention.

"That Foal will be coming soon," Cody said. "Maybe a few days maybe next Saturday," "What's a Foal?" Penny asked softly.

"A baby horse," Austin explained, "Misty, she is Sam's horse, and she is going to have a Baby."

"When she having the baby?"

"Hmm any day now honestly."

"Who's the dad?"

She was rapid firing questions and there were a few chuckles on that note.

"I am sure it's Nyx," Austin said and Noah glared.
"My horse behaves himself, I'm sure it's Thunder,"
"Thunder wasn't around her," Luke said looking at Noah.
"Oh, like hell he wasn't!" Noah said.

"Swear jar," Sam said joyfully, "That will be a dollar sir," Noah grumbled pulling a dollar out of his wallet and put it in the jar. 

"Are you guys' mad cause she is pregnant?" Penny asked quietly. Instantly looked at her, they all paused the room was quiet.

"No, Penny. We are just having some friendly banter, it's alright. We are not mad she is pregnant, or at all," he paused, "do you like horses?"

"I don't know. I never really been round them, till now, I guess," she said unsure she had seen her brothers riding them a few times but still she hasn't gotten close to most or any of them.

"That's understandable, maybe we can go for a ride today or tomorrow if you are interested,"
"Maybe," she said softly playing with her locket.
"Don't worry Luke will be with you Monkey," Cody smiled, "and after your done with breakfast. I'll show you around the ranch a bit more you've been a busy Monkey all week,"

"Not my fault," Penny mumbled making a face "school sucks,"

Luke raised an eyebrow at her but said nothing on the matter. Her face was displeasure that she hated school was there then gone when someone set a glass of chocolate milk in front of her. Luke looked at Rhett.

"What?"

"Hmm."

After breakfast, Penny went with Cody, first he was showing her how to clean out the chicken coop to her dismay this would be her regular chore until they taught her to do other things which she wasn't excited about that.
