— 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐋𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃 back to normal between Layla and Warren, and the redhead couldn't have been more thankful for it.

She obviously knew how much Warren meant to her — but she didn't realize just how...attached she had become to him until he had ignored her. And now that they were good again, she was not planning on letting anyone get in the way of them again.

Of course, that plan went right out of the window when Jennifer approached her and Warren again during lunch.

"Hey, Warren." She said with a flirty smile, completely ignoring Layla.

The Peace boy didn't even bother looking at her. "I copied notes off of Larry today. He's definitely the better person to go to."

Layla saw Jennifer's smile drop for a moment before she plastered the smile back onto her face and leaned in closer to Warren.

Giggling, she shook her head. "I didn't come here to ask for notes, silly! I just wanted to let you know that I talked to Mr. Medulla and he agreed to let us be partners for the big chemistry project."

Warren frowned, finally turning to look at her. "I liked who my partner was. Larry's smart."

Jennifer rolled her eyes playfully. "So? I'm smart too. Together, I know we'll make a great team."

Layla had to stop herself from snorting at that, and she saw Warren's lip twitch in amusement too.

"So what do you say we meet after school today? We can get started on the project in the library?" The blonde asked, biting her lip in what she thought was a seductive way.

Warren nodded. "Sure, whatever."

Jennifer squealed — squealed, and then turned around to head back to her friends. "Perfect! See you after school, Warren!"

Layla frowned as she watched the girl walk away. She knew that it wasn't Warren's fault that they were partners now, and that it really was for the best that they start working on the project as soon as possible, but she couldn't help but feel upset that he was going to be spending time with her after school.

"Guess I'll be flying solo after school today." She joked weakly, before stabbing her salad quite violently.

Warren's eyes flicked down to their shared tray, before looking back at her face and snorting. "Are you joking? I refuse to go and meet Janice by myself. You're coming with me, Hippie."

Layla immediately perked up at that, a large smile making its way to her face.

She didn't even bother correcting him on Jennifer's name, she was so happy.
