— 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐓 to hell after the closet incident.
It's like everywhere Layla went, eyes were on her. The "whispers" even more prominent than the stares.
"What a slut."
"What does Warren even see in her?"
"Wonder if she gives it up for just anyone?"
Layla could feel herself physically trying to shy away from the awful comments, her shoulders hunching and her arms protectively moving to hug herself.
She was thankful that Warren wasn't around her right now. She had no doubt that if he was, he would be biting people's heads off left and right.
Looking up and ignoring the glares from her female peers — and even worse, leers from the male ones, she sighed a breath of relief as she saw her classroom door right up ahead. At least in the safety of the classroom, no one could say or do anything without the teachers getting involved and causing a big scene.
Magenta came into class just seconds before the bell and took a seat next to her, shooting her a worried look.
"First of all, when the hell did you and Warren make things official? And second of all, how has Warren not burned down the school yet from all these disgusting ass comments being made about you?" The brunette said in lieu of a greeting.
"Good morning to you too, Mag," Layla responded, the usual enthusiasm lacking in her voice.
The girl only raised a brow as she looked at the redhead with an expectant look.
Layla sighed as she slumped in her seat, moving to cover her face with her hands for a moment before looking back up to lock eyes with her friend. "You're not gonna let me get away with this, are you?"
"Uh, no," Magenta said as she slid her backpack off her arm and onto the ground. "Spill."
Layla leaned in closer to the girl and began to whisper. "Warren and I aren't actually dating."
The brunette shot her an incredulous look but remained silent.
"Some senior asked me out and I told him that I had a boyfriend. When he asked me who, I said it was Warren." She explained.
"Again!?" Magenta exclaimed, loud enough to pull the attention from their classmates.
She shot them all a glare before lowering her voice and looking back at Layla. "You guys are fake dating again!?" She whispered disbelievingly.
