Lauren finally makes it to the store
Lauren's Pov
The walk felt long as usual but I finally made it I asked the cashier for the cigarettes. The workers know my mother by heart so all I have to do is tell them my mom's name and they give me the stuff. I dug in my pockets and didn't feel the money. I left and went to trace my steps and didn't see the money anywhere so I rushed back to the store if I could get the cigarettes now and pay later as Mom had a tab there. The clerk said she would let it pass since they'd been slow in business. While was walking I started to hum to myself thinking how much I would cherish having a happy family. As I reached for the doorknob I could hear Mom banging and throwing things. Oh how I wish I would've taken the long way home
