"Hey, Morgan and I are going to order pizza and chill at my place. Want to come?" Anthony asked. Morgan stood behind him. I looked to the side, "Oh, uh, I can't. I've got something to take care of." Morgan's eyebrows rose. "Maybe another time," I continued anxiously. Anthony looked at Morgan and shrugged, "Yeah, ok."

I felt bad for turning them down. This is going to be harder than I thought. What would they think of me if they knew what I was capable of?

The bell rung and I rushed out of the building. The park was right down the road, so I figured I'd walk.

Trees covered where the path ended. I quickly stepped off the path and ran to where Hazel told me she would be. "Hazel?" I yelled. I fell to the ground as she jumped on my back, "Do you want to draw attention?" Her voice was harsh. I got up and brushed myself off. Hazel tightened the bun in her hair, "You need to learn how to control your flames, use them on command. Now," she stepped towards me, "Make your hands flame." I stuck out my hands and stared at them. Minuets passed. "I don't know how," I finally said.

"You need to focus," She told me. I took a deep breath. Flames rose from my hands. Hazel smiled and clapped her hands. I felt accomplished. "Hazel... How do I stop?" "Close your eyes and calm down. This will also help you when you get angry."

Hazel grabbed her backpack, "We will continue this tomorrow." "But we've only practiced for an hour," I said. "We don't want to over do it. It takes time," she replied. The word 'tomorrow' just caught my attention. "Hey you said tomorrow?" "Yeah everyday." "What? How am I supposed to get pass Anthony and Morgan?" "Figure it out," she said and started to walk away. I ran after her, "So what you're saying is that I don't have a life anymore?" "Did you have one to begin with?" She answered sarcastically. I tensed up. "You should see if you can catch up with your friends. Try to act as normal as possible." Hazel demanded. "Sure normal. How a---," I was interrupted. Hazel put her hand over my mouth, "Quiet. Get down and follow me." "What's going on?" "Captivity Unit. They hunt for our kind. Don't ever let them catch you." The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, "What!" "Shh, idiot!" She whispered. Hazel grabbed my hand and we ran for the back exit.
