SINISTER

Chapter 1- ///LIFE OUTSIDE OF HELL/// part one

I looked in the rearview mirror and looked at the sleeping figure in my backseat thinking about what I've been through...

it's been almost a year and a half since I escaped.

In the course of that year and a half, I found a decent paying job that I can work right in my home, and adopted a little girl. Now before I explain more let me just say that no I didn't just find the need to take someone in while almost being on the run but when I first left that blasted house, I ran into a little girl who at the time was four, sitting on the side of a pretty much abandoned gas station.

I still remember that day as if it happened yesterday.

*flashback*

Ding.

A sound resonated throughout the car. I looked down at my gas meter and noticed I was on e. I squinted my eyes as I looked through the windshield. I was currently in the middle of nowhere and was thankful when I noticed a gas station coming up ahead.

When I pulled up to the gas station I pulled up at the pump. Gosh I thought these gas stations barely existed. This gas station was mega old. I'd be surprised if it had gas in the first place. I turned off my car and stepped out into the cool crisp night rubbing my arms up and down to warm them up.

There were lights on inside so I walked up to the door to peer in. I thought I heard someone shuffling about somewhere to the right of Me. I looked around but saw nothing but bushes and garbage. Shrugging I opened the door to the gas station. A bell sounded and I looked around rubbing my hands together to get warm. jeez it was freezing outside tonight.

the smell of old gasoline, oil and dust penetrated the air and I coughed careful not to breath in too much of the fumes.

There was a gangly old man behind the counter that had to be in his mid to late seventies.

"hi I'd like to get some gas." I stated looking at the dust covered items on the counter. Ew. They must've been there for like decades. I chuckled to myself. The old man with the glasses too big for his tiny eyes sat up from his chair and eyed me.

I started feeling uncomfortable under his intense stare and immediately my thoughts went to michael. I shivered in disgust and scolded myself for thinking about him. I will not think about him anymore. That part of my life is gone.
