Pomni sat in her room for days straight. She was so close. But stupid Gangle had to ruin it all. She hated it here. She wanted to go home. She slammed her face into her pillow and screamed with all her might, tears rolling down her face and into the pillow.
She was in the middle of letting her anger out when she heard a knock on her door. She sat up temporarily and flopped back onto her pillow.
"Go away.", Pomni told whoever was there.
"Pomni, I need to talk to you, now."
It was Ragatha. The person Pomni could at least tolerate. She sighed and raised her head slightly.
"Come in."
Ragatha walked in and quietly shut the door behind her before sitting on the bed.
"Hey, Pomni. I just wanted to check up on you. I also need to talk to you."
Pomni paused.
"About what..?"
Ragatha took a breath in.
"I needed to talk to you about what happened. I just wanna know what made you leave us like that."
Pomni turned to her side away from Ragatha.
"I...I really wanna go home, Ragatha. I know I used to have people I cared about, places I loved..and yet I can't even remember them."
Ragatha sighed.
"Yes, I know, it's hard to take...knowing that you might never remember or see the people you love ever again. But please, Pomni, try to believe that you'll get out. Or at least try to enjoy it here! There is some fun things to do!"
Ragatha's smile fell when Pomni took some time to respond. She sighed lightly and picked at a loose thread on her arm.Pomni sat up, still looking away.
"I mean...I've tried to enjoy it here, Ragatha. I just...can't."
Ragatha rested her hand on Pomni's.
"Pomni. Look at me."
Pomni reluctantly turned her head towards Ragatha.
"You can do this. You'll survive. Even if you do go insane, please just try to enjoy your time here while you can. Promise me you won't give up yet."
"I gave up a while ago, Ragatha. I can't take much more before I crack."
"You'll be okay, Pomni, just please, believe me."
"But Ragatha-", Pomni started.
"I don't wanna hear it, Pomni. You are going to be okay, just please believe me."Pomni sighed.
She felt like she had to now, not just because Ragatha was saying she had to.
But she also didn't want to let the most tolerable person in this hellhole down.
