chapter three: the main character and her two leading man

We safely arrived at the Vvrienne Dukedom, the home of Jewellian Vvrienne, the only daughter of Duke Vvrienne.

The house is filled with colorful decors of violet and blue which signifies the Debutante favorite color. A lot of guest starts arriving and in no time, the Dukedom is filled with guest from all over the empire.

Each and everyone of these guest are here for two reason. One, to see how beautiful the Debutante is. Second, to see three of the most powerful family in the empire in one place.

The Royal family will be attending as well as the Henston Family. These three family never stays in the same place due to, power conflict, I guess.

And the fact that they will be in the same place, signifies that there will be things, major things that will change tonight.

‘And I know what those changes are,’

I'm originally from the past, so this event already happened for me. Now I just need to prevent two things from happening, I guess.

First is to make sure that Duke Hens—I mean Lord Henston and Jewel are not seen together alone just yet. Rumours might arise once again and it will really plummet Jewel’s confidence and would refuse Lord Henston’s visit again and again for a long time.

Second is to prevent the engagement announcement of Jewel and the Crown Prince. Jewel is in love with Lord Henston and Lord Henston is in love with Jewel, I need to make sure in this life, they will have a happy ending.

“I can’t believe that even in my second life, I'm still thinking about the well being of Jewel,” mapait na bulong ko sa sarili.

“Are you alright,?” nag-aalalang tanong ni Jewel. Pilit naman akong ngumiti sa kaniyang harapan bago tumango.

“Of course I am. It's your birthday! I'm super okay and very excited,” sagot ko. Ngumiti naman siya ng malaki at tumango.

Nag-usap pa kami ng ilang minuto bago ako lumabas sa kaniyang kuwarto sapagkat malapit ng magsimula ang pagdiriwang.

Habang naglalakad sa hallway papunta sa Ball Room ay madadaanan mo ang isang fountain kaya tumigil muna ako para pagmasdan ito.

Napakaganda ng langit. Sa dami ng butuin ngayon, mag-aakala ka talagang ang buong kalawakan ay nagdidiriwang sa kapanganakan ni Jewel.

“Napaka-swerte talaga,” bulong ko. Dumako naman ang aking tingin sa fountain kung saan tila ba kumikinang ang tubig. Dahil siguro ito sa sinag ng buwan.

Aalis na sana ako ng mayroon akong mapansin. Mayroong dalawang tao ang nakatayo sa tabi ng fountain. Hindi ko kita ang isa sapagkat nakatabon ang fountain sa kaniya. Pero ang isa ay aking kilalang-kilala.

Ang kaniyang tindig ay maharlikang-maharlika. Unang tingin pa lang alam mo nang isa siyang nilalang mula sa marangyang pamilya.

Kasalukuyang na sa Fountain ang crown prince at mayroong kausap!!

“What’s going on!?” gulat at kinakabahang tanong ko sa hangin habang madiin na nakatingin sa Crown Prince na nakatayo malapit sa Fountain.

Wala akong natatandaang mayroong kausap na nilalang ang Crown Prince sa fountain! Sino ang nilalang na ito?

Tatakbo na sana ako papunta sa Fountain para makita ang nilalang na kasama ng Crown Prince at bakit malaki ang ngiti ng lalaki.

‘Pero teka,’ I stopped at my track and looked back. The Crown Prince is smiling from ear to ear and base on his expression, it really shows he is talking to someone important to him enough to make him smile.

I never saw the Crown Prince smile as genuine as that even in my past life. I didn't get the chance to see him everyday though, but Jewel would always ask me to join her whenever the King and Queen invites her to the Palace.

Of course, since it's the Palace, I would get to see the Crown Prince as he is Jewel’s fiancee. He is smiling, but not ‘that’ genuine.

I hurriedly snap my head and returns back to reality. Ho! I don't know what exactly happen, but I just went down to memory lane kept thinking about the Crown Prince.

I don't know what made me want to rush to the fountain to see whoever he is talking and laughing with, but good thing I stopped myself. Now that I'm back to reality, it made me realize that if ever the Crown Prince is speaking with someone, hopefully a Lady, then that would be perfect!!

I don't need to entangle myself in his mess, and it would greatly help Jewel as well!

‘It is such an amazing news!’ With this, Jewel and Crown Prince’s Engagement announcement won't happen, as long as the Lady will stop it from happening.

“I’m safe then,” nakangiting bulong ko.

“Lady Gabriella?” Napatingin ako sa gilid ng mayroong tumawag sa aking pangalan at nakita ko si Lord Henston na nakatayo sa hindi kalayuan.

Agad naman akong humarap sa kaniya at binati siya. “Pleasure to meet you, Lord Henston. How may I help you?” magalang na tanong ko.

“Ahaha you don't have to be too formal around me. You can just call me Derik,” nakangiting lintaya niya.

“That would be very improper, My Lord. It is only courtesy that I address you how everyone address you, I'm not a friend of the Lord,” magalang na sagot ko.

“I guess your right. Anyway, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be with Lady Jewel right now?” muling tanong niya. Napataas naman ako ng kilay sa kaniyang katanungan.

“Paano mo nala— Nevermind. I just got out from her chamber for her to completely get ready,” sagot ko. Kung hindi ako nagkakamali, ay hindi pa alam ni Lord Henston na kami ay magkaibigan ni Jewel. Kung kaya’t, bakit?

Ah! Baka siguro na kuwento ito ni Jewel sa kaniya. Matagal na rin naman silang nagkikita ng pasekreto.

“What are you two doing?” Ibinaling ko naman ang aking tingin sa taong nagtanong. Mula sa likod ni Lord Henston, lumabas ang Crown Prince.

Mabilis akong tumingin sa fountain at wala ng tao roon! Papaanong nandito ang Crown Prince? Kay bilis naman ng kaniyang lakad? At nasaan ang babaeng kausap niya kanina?

“I greet the future sun of our Empire, Crown Prince Navviel,” magalang na bati ko habang nakayuko. Mabuti na lamang at agad akong kumalma, sapagkat kung hindi ay baka napasigaw na ako’t napahiya ang sarili.

“The ceremony is about to begin. The both of you should get back inside,” walang emosyong lintaya niya.

Tumango naman ako sa kaniya at muling yumuko at nagpaalam kay Lord Henston na ako’y mauuna bago dahan-dahan naglakad pabalik sa Ball Room.

Nawa’y hindi sana sumunod agad sa akin ang dalawang lalaking iyon, sapagkat hindi magandang tingnan na kaming tatlo ay magkasama. Ano na lamang kaya ang iisipin ng marami? Lalo na ni Jewel? Ayaw ko ng eskandalo gayong pangalawang buhay ko na ito.

I don't know what's going on, but good thing those two did not follow me quickly. I have met almost all of the important figure in the Empire. Let's all hope that today's event won't be the same with the previous one.
