Here's a short fanfiction of Enoch pissing off Hugh. This is my first hurt-comfort fanfiction by the way, so feedback is appreciated:

Cairnholm, 1940. A cloudless sky was brightened by a cheerful looking sun, which beamed down on Miss Peregrine's house. Enoch and Hugh were playing in the field of flowers in the backyard. Enoch with his action figures and Hugh with his bees. They were observing Hugh's bees carrying Enoch's figurines up to a tree. Enoch liked how fun Hugh made the scene look like. And to express his feelings, he gave a big round of applause, accidentally smashing one of Hugh's bees in the process which he didn't notice.

"I find that rather impressive," Enoch said, looking at Hugh.

Hugh, who had been staring at his bees, looked back at Enoch. "It sure is. In fact, it was actually quite fun having all of them carry your toys like that. It's like they're little ants."

"If those bees are your ants, then you must be their queen..." Enoch stopped for a moment to think. "...or king. Can male ants become kings?" he asked himself.

While Enoch was pondering whether or not king ants were a thing, Hugh looked over at his palm. A squashed bee lay on Enoch's palm, covering it with bits of bee blood. Hugh had originally felt marveled by Enoch's ant comment, but now he felt like ripping his head off.

"Hugh?" Enoch noticed Hugh's blank eyes glaring at his hand. He took a glance at his palm, realized what he did, and felt a mix of guilt and fear churn in his stomach. He jerked his head to Hugh and apologized profusely, stammering on a few words. Hugh apparently paid no notice, continuing to stare blankly at Enoch with malevolent eyes.

"Kill my bees, will you?" He was slowly approaching Enoch, him backing away.

"I'm really sorry, Hugh. Please don't hurt me."

Hugh made a grab at Enoch, and he circled around Hugh, running to Miss Peregrine's house. "You little brat, you!"

Enoch ran into Miss Peregrine's house through the front door. He was stopped by Millard, who finally decided to wear clothes. "Er...what seems to be the matt—"

"Don't tell Hugh where I am. I'll be hiding somewhere." Enoch ran into one of the rooms that was by Millard, leaving him standing in confusion.

"Okay...?" he muttered. Millard turned to face the front door. Hugh was running at him, fuming. Millard half-expected smoke to come out of his ears.

He grabbed Millard aggressively by the shoulders and shook him. "Where's Enoch?"

"Er...I'm not entirely sure."

Hugh was about to shake him again, but was stopped by his long explanatory monologue. "I suppose if he were to divert attention away from himself he would falsely lead you to one location but run to another in order to buy time. In this case, Enoch has led you here to Miss Peregrine's house but is instead running around it from outside."

"That sneaky bastard." He shook Millard's hand vehemently. "Thanks a bunch, Millard." Hugh quickly ran out of the house, and after, Enoch ran out of the room by Millard.

Enoch smiled. "That was an interesting lie you gave there."

Millard shrugged. "It took me a while to figure out something was wrong."

"A while?" He raised an eyebrow. "Didn't seem like a while. How'd you come up with that on the spot?"

"I have my tricks," Millard said slyly.

Enoch turned to run upstairs and thanked him. "I'll be upstairs."

In the midst of running in the hallway, he bumped into a hateful looking Hugh, who was glaring down at him, open hands twitching. Enoch backed away while Hugh walked steadily towards him.
