It didn't take long to convince Kaiden that I was a werewolf. When I shifted in front of her, she wasn't even slightly scared of my huge wolf— she was hysterical with awe, saying over and over how beautiful Lattis was.

I was quite flattered actually.

After I explained the situation to Dreiga, she said she was joining the shifters too. I stared at her, but eventually shrugged, deciding it was her decision.

Besides, she was technically a shifter, so what the hell.

So I ran, with my newly inaugurated daughter sitting on my back, holding my fur and clothes tightly. The shadow of the dragon above followed lithely along the ground. We stopped when we got to the border of the Crescent Pack.

I shifted behind a tree, while Dreiga shifted back to her human form.

"Okay, so I'm going to have to ask you both to remain here," I said. "If you come with me, we'll get into a whole lot of trouble with the pack guards which I'd rather avoid. I'm going to chat with the Alpha for a bit, then I'll come collect you. Behave."

"I'm not a teenager," Dreiga said, rolling her eyes.

"You have almost as much attitude as myself. I don't know if I like that."

"Doesn't matter. You'll still have to deal with it."

"Hey, don't test me. I could leave you chained and hanging upside down from a tree."

"Where would you get the chain?" she challenged with a smirk. "I literally have a furnace in my throat. Never heard of metal that doesn't melt."

"No," I replied, throwing her a grin over my shoulder, "but your spine would do nicely."

She rolled her eyes. "Get out of my sight," she snapped.

I smirked when I saw Tyler in the corridor that led to his office. I hastened my steps. He turned, saw me, and walked faster. With a short laugh, I broke into a sprint, launching myself onto him and clinging like a koala bear. He cursed and tried to shake me off, but I wasn't having it. "Piggyback ride," I announced in a sing-song voice. My brother grumbled to himself something along the lines of "How is she still such a child?" but obliged, carrying me into his office.

When we got there, I got off his back, allowing him to turn and scowl at me. "A little warning would be nice next time," he snapped.

"If I had asked, you wouldn't have done it."

"Exactly. That's the beauty of it." He sat down.

"Ever since you married Cindy you don't carry me nearly as much as you used to when we were younger," I whined.

"That's because we were younger, you numbskull! See there's this wonderful concept, I believe they call it growing up. You, however, can't seem to grasp it."

I glared, and promptly sat down on his desk.

I grinned as irritated ice blue eyes rose and glared at me.

"Get your ass off my desk," he growled.

"What's that? Welcome home? Ah, thank you, Tyler," I chuckled.

"Must you annoy me every chance you get?"

"I'm your little sister. It's in my job description."

He took a deep, calming breath. "Last I heard of you, Lucy told me you were off to the parallel plane. How long did you spend there?"
