I wonder if anyone went to the food court. Maybe I should go check. I can't afford oversleeping anyway.

I packed my sickle and lock pick into a little bag I found and headed over to the food court.

Ashton: Ashlyn, you're up early today.

Ashlyn: You too. What're you doing here?

Ashton: I come here everyday to eat breakfast. The morning announcement always wakes me up. You?

Ashlyn: I couldn't go back to sleep.

Ashton: I see. That happens to me a lot too. Is there something on your mind?

Ashlyn: Yea, there's quite a lot. Like the killing game.

Ashton laughed.

Ashton: When is the killing game not on our minds?

Ashlyn: Some people sound confident another killing won't happen.

Ashton: I can see why they are, but why do you think otherwise?

Ashlyn: I don't know. It's just a feeling.

Ashton: Maybe you think too much.

Ashlyn: Maybe.

Ashton: I think a lot too. It's not just you.

Ashlyn: I guess so, thanks.

Ashton: Of course. Anything else on your mind?

...

Ashlyn: Have you ever wondered what goes through a killer's head before they do it?

Ashton: What?

Ashlyn: Do you think it's easy for them?

Ashton laughed.

Ashton: ...No. Definitely not.

Ashton: If we think deeper into it and look at everyone who's killed so far... Kendric was probably feeling shocked and terrified, I mean he was getting attacked too.

Ashton: Hannan... Well she was used to this sort of thing wasn't she? She's not normal, so I'll say she probably felt alright, but you're different.

Ashlyn: But she killed her best friend.

Ashton: Then maybe she did feel scared, but we'll never know.

Ashton: Tan Liang probably felt betrayed. He did it on a whim, blinded by his anger, I guess. It's why he made a whole scene with Miyoshi's body instead of hiding the evidence.

Ashlyn: Randi probably felt scared too, but I guess she saw it as more of a requirement to avenge her best friend.

Ashton: The fact she thought Sumana had no remorse about it fuelled her anger too, and it probably made the killing much easier to digest.

Ashlyn: I guess they all had one thing in common.

Ashton: Hm? What?

Ashlyn: They all regretted doing it, didn't they?

Ashton: ...It would be hard not to. They knew they would be executed if we found out. It's a big gamble.

Ashlyn: It is.

Ashton: It's hard to not regret taking someone's life too.

Ashlyn: You're a detective, you know more about this subject, right?

Ashton: I used to see murderers in and out of the station everyday. Of course I do.

Ashlyn: Must be interesting.
