I woke up, already feeling anxiety in the pit of my stomach. Today was the day where my friends would be over and we would watch the nominations live.

I got out of bed and got ready for the day, I threw on a flannel and leggings with some cozy socks. I made my bed and brushed out my hair. I walked down the stairs and put the front door, needing to get some stuff for when my friends are over and to clear my head.

I started the ignition on my car and drove to the convenience store in Forks. Only to get out of my car and find out that it was closed due to unexpected family emergency.

I groaned as I got back in my car and made my way to the convenience store in La Push. I drove all the way past my house and into the reservation.

When I finally pulled into the small parking lot, I thanked whatever god was out there that it was open. I heard the bell of the door when I walked through the door.

I grabbed a basket and started grabbing different kinds of chips and stuff to make pizzas. I also grabbed some air mattresses since my friends would all be sleeping over.

Once I had everything I walked up to the cash and placed everything on the counter.

“Wow, that’s-thats definitely a lot. Have I’m a party?” I looked up to the cashier from my phone that was blowing up with texts from my friends leaving and getting ready to come over. That had stayed in various places in Seattle last night, considering that there were no hotels in Forks.

I recognized the cashier as Paul, the guy that I had met on the beach with Jacob. I grinned at him.

“Yeah I’m having some friends over tonight to watch the nominations for the VMAs.” He grinned a bit while scanning everything that I had gotten.

“Do you think you’ll get nominated?” Normally I would be mildly offended by that question but I could tell that he didn’t mean it in a malicious way.

“I don’t think I’ll get nominated, but my friends seem to think otherwise.” He looked up and smiled at me.

“Well, I’ll be rooting for you.” I smiled brightly at him, he finished scanning my items and I checked out.

I was finally home with about an hour to prepare before my friends would be here, the show was in the evening but I wanted to show them around my hometown.

I unpacked everything and set the rolled up mattresses aside, I pulled out bowls and put them next to the bags of chips. I would have poured them but I figured that they’re hold get stale.

The doorbell rang , I rushed to it and opened it to see my bestfriend. She walked in and hugged me.

“This is going to be amazing, I know that you’ll be nominated.” I thanked her and went to open the door again after the doorbell rang.

“Emma! Jen!” I pulled both of them into a hug as they laughed. We spoke a bit before the doorbell rang again, and I pulled Lana inside while hugging her.

We walked outside so that I could show them the town, we went around Forks while talking and laughing together. It was nice to finally be in a full group again, we all got along so well.

So far we hadn’t had any run ins with anyone, but we were also about to pass the high school so I wouldn’t be surprised if we did have a run in here. Some kids stared at us as we passed but only one came up to us for a photo, of course we obliged and took a photo with her. We moved past after that pretty smoothly.
