I woke up after a long nights sleep, I stood and put on a pair of leggings along with an autumn jumper. I slid on my light up sneakers and grabbed my bag. I got in my car and began the long drive to Seattle.

On the way there, I stopped and got both me and Nathan an iced coffee and a croissant. Once there, I got out of the car and walked into the building, not having any paparazzi close up.

I walked into the studio and hugged Jack after putting down the items from the cafe. We sat and ate and I played him my recording of the song and how I thought it should go. After that we recorded the song and finished writing it, trying to finalize it at once. Finally at around four o’clock we had finished, it taking up all day.

After bidding my friend and coworker goodbye I got in my car and headed to pick up Taylor and then home. On the way home we blasted music and sang to it, at that moment we were just teenagers, we weren’t famous, we were just eighteen.

We stood in my bedroom, I had just taken a shower and washed my hair. Currently, Tay was blow drying my hair while I was doing my skincare.

Eventually, she finished with my hair after putting it in a braid crown and put on a bit of makeup. Just don’t mascara, concealer, blush and lipgloss. Once it was almost time to leave, I put on a beigey cream cloured dress with flowers all over it.

I looked in the mirror and smiled, ‘Cute’ I thought. It was almost the time when Paul would pick me up, I slipped on my docs while Taylor called her bodyguard to come pick her up.

About ten minutes later Taylor had left and Paul had arrived. He knocked on the door and waited there as I opened it. He was wearing jeans and a white button up shirt that was rolled up at the sleeves.

“Hi.” I said with a wide smile on my face.

“Hey. You look stunning, Nova.” He had a smile on his face and a small bouquet of roses in his hand. I grinned at him as he handed them to me.

“Hold on a second, you can come in, I’ll just put these in some water.” He stepped inside the front door as I went to the kitchen to get a tall glass filled with water to put them in.

We both stepped outside and went to his truck, as we pulled out of the driveway, a conversation started.

“So what are we going to do on this date?” I asked him with a smile on my face.

He smirked at me, “Well thats a surprise, wouldn’t want to ruin it.” I smiled at him while studying his face. His sharp jawline and his deep brown eyes.

I had never felt what I felt with any of my previous loves, sure I loved them, but this was different. This felt like I couldn’t live without him, I was connected to him. I never wanted to leave his side and I don’t think that I ever would.

We got out of the truck and began a short and easy walk through the forest to a clearing. It had a blanket payed down in the middle with candles and a picnic basket. It was beautiful, the clearing was filled with flowers, there was lavender and roses and all kinds of little flowers.

We sat on the blanket together and opened the basket, Paul pulled out chocolate covered strawberries, which were some of my favourites.

“So, tell me about you. I want to get to know Nova Swan.” He smiled at me as I began talking.

“Well, I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. I am the oldest sibling of two, I moved to New York when my sister moved to Forks. We moved to New York to make it easier for me to do what I do. I am living with my dad until my tour starts.” He looked over to me and shot me a warm smile, it was inviting and kind.

“Where’s your southern accent, cowgirl?” I giggled at his question.

“Oh don’t worry, I can bring it back, its just hiding.” I told him with a wide smile on my face while using my country accent.

He grinned at me while chuckling a bit. “You’re a sly one, Nova.”

The rest of the date was spent laughing, having conversations and flirting.

When, finally the night was coming to an end, we packed up the area and walked back to the truck.

We drove to my house in a comfortable silence, enjoying eachothers presences. I didn’t want the moment to end, I had never felt this content with anyone. Where we had so quickly shared our lives’ details that we had nothing left to tell. And that was okay.

We pulled up to my house and both got out of the truck to walk me to the door.

“I had a really nice night with you, Paul.” I smiled at him.

“So did I, maybe I could interest you in a second date sometime?” His tone was hopeful, as if he didn’t already know my answer.

“Of course, thank you for tonight. It was perfect.” I smiled at him and leaned up slightly to kiss his cheek.

With that, we bid each other goodbye and I stepped inside the cozy house. A wide grin was spread across my face.

I jogged up the stairs and flopped onto my bed, a smile spread across my face that refused to leave. I never wanted it to leave, my life was going my way. My tour was starting soon, I was nominated for a prize, I just went on a date with the most wonderful person. All I had to do was hope that no one interrupted my speech if I won, and that Paul would treat me better than John did. Paul was sweet, he cared and I didn’t want to take that for granted.

I would live my best life, hopefully with Paul by my side. We would be happy, I could already tell.

I slowly got ready for bed, thinking about our date and how perfect it was. Then, my mind jumped to tomorrow, when I would be going to Seattle for dress fittings. Excitement filled my heart and I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I had just gone on a date with the perfect guy, I was getting a dress because I was nominated for a VMA award.

I went to sleep with those thoughts swirling my head and a satisfied smile on my face. My life was turning out, and I couldn’t be happier.
