I woke up with a warm arm around me. All I wanted to do was stay there, but since my tour was starting in a couple weeks I had to get up and go to practice.

I started to get up, but the arm around me tightened. A smile spread across my face.

“Paul, I need to get up.” I said aloud while slightly laughing.

“Ugh.” He groaned, “Do you need to go?” He whined.

“Yes.” I laughed. With that, I pried his arm from around me and climbed out of the bed.

I grabbed my low waisted shorts and a tank top.

I changed from Paul’s oversized tshirt and my own shorts into the outfit that I had pulled out

I changed from Paul’s oversized tshirt and my own shorts into the outfit that I had pulled out.

I brushed through my hair in front of my mirror and put it in a low bun. I applied no makeup and grabbed my bag.

As I was going to leave Paul’s bedroom and house, I kissed him goodbye and left through the door.

A smile was planted on my face as I entered my car and began leaving the small town. I had the radio on and was singing along to the music.

I was about to pass the sign that read, ‘Leaving La Push’ when my phone started buzzing. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned down the radio before answering it.

“Hey Nova…” Jake said into the phone.

“Hey Jake! I’m on my way to Seattle, is this important?” I asked him, mildly concerned.

“Well, I just thought that I’d let you know that Charlotte is back in town.” My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“Who’s Charlotte? Listen Jake I really need to get to Seattle so if it’s important just tell me.” I could practically hear his heart drop.

“O-oh he never told you?” He asked almost rhetorically.

“Did he never tell me what? Jake please.” I pleaded with him.

“Okay… Charlotte is Paul’s ex. They were engaged before she had to take a year in London for university.” My heart dropped to the floor. He was going to get married?

“Nova? You okay?” He was probably berating himself for telling me.

“U-um, yeah. Listen Jake, I’m gonna go, I-I need to go.” I told him while looking down at my lap and biting my lip. Hoping that I wouldn’t start crying.
