I woke up early and got ready quickly, before leaving the hotel and heading for the airport. Before boarding a plane arhat would bring me to Port Angeles. From there, I took a ride to Forks, being dropped off at a park near my house. From there I walked home, it being around 6:00 at this point.

I walked through the front door, setting down my bags.

“I’m home.” I called out into the house.

I heard footsteps coming downstairs that I could tell were my sister’s.

“Nova!” She immediately pulled me into a hug.

“I’m so proud of you.” She told me while smiling, I couldn’t help but smile back at her. My little sister, she saw the food in the situation, which was what I needed.

“Dad wanted me to tell you that he wished he could be here but he is doing a search for a missing boy in Seattle and is staying overnight there tonight. He said that he is so happy for you and that we watched the whole thing with Edward’s family last night.” She ranted. I smiled and pulled her into another hug.

I brought all my bags upstairs, with a bit of help from Edward. who had come over. I sat down once I had finished unpacking and texted Paul that I was home.

He texted back almost immediately saying that he was coming over. I waited until I heard the doorbell ring from downstairs. I leaped from my seat on the couch and bolted to the door.

I opened it and was immediately engulfed in a hug. He walked in and closed the door while still holding me. He kissed me, before I put my head on his chest. I felt him kiss my head before pulling away.

“You won a VMA.” He said mildly happily. I nodded with a smile on my face before we went upstairs.

I got ready for bed while he sat on my bed.  I was glad that he was here.

I walked back in the room, still having tons of thoughts swirling my mind. I didn’t know wether I should love or hate my trophy. I didn’t deserve it, but I had it. There was nothing that I could do about it.

We both got under my covers, him wrapping his arms around me. There was silence for a little while.

“Nova, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” He asked me quietly. I sat up abruptly, him following in suit. I was leaning against my headboard with his arm still around my back. He looked at me with concern in his eyes.

“I don’t deserve it.” I looked at him with tears in my eyes.

“I was so happy and then…” I trailed off. “It was so loud. It was such a loud room. Everyone was booing me, they all wanted me gone.” I told him with a tear falling down my cheeks.

“No. What you don’t deserve is what he did. You deserve that award just as much as all of the other nominees. They weren’t booing you, love. No one could boo you.” He told me while tears started streaming down my face.

He pulled me into a tight hug, at that moment, that was my only comfort. I cried into his shoulder, while he stroked my head. He slowly lowered us so that we were lying down, I was still crying, letting it all out.

He held me, letting me cry until I couldn’t anymore, until I fell asleep.

I woke up wrapped in my boyfriend’s arms, it felt safe and comforting. My day had pretty much sucked, but this made it a bit better. Now, this was a new day, a fresh start.
