Chapter 9

"Morning mommy!" The boys say in unison when I get to the kitchen.
"Morning babies" I say as I kiss their foreheads.
"Morning bhuti" I say to Siphephelo.
"Morning Sphe we have already had our breakfast we are just waiting for you" he says.
He is showered and changed into new clothes which I wonder where he got.
"You got them ready?" I ask.
The boys are wearing their grey sweatpants,white long sleeve shirts and their Dior black jerseys with black Balenciaga sneakers.
"Yes,you know that I have twin girls right?" He says.
I can't help but laugh.
"Okay let's go,I will grab something at the hospital" I say.
He gives me a look but I don't mind him.
"Let's go babies" I say leading the boys out.

"We are discharging him tomorrow everything seems to be fine but we will need him to come into physiotherapy at least once a month" Dr Naidoo says.
The boys are with their father. Dudu also came with Themba,the child doesn't even look like Dudu but maybe she looks like a family member of hers. He is such a quiet soul.
"There are no complications he is fine?" I ask.
"Yes Dr Zulu he is fine although we will give him medication and we advise you to administer it to him. I am much relieved as he will be in the hands of a health practitioner because he will get help with walking" Dr Naidoo says.
"No my husband will be staying with me,I will hire a nurse and a doctor if needs be" Dudu says.
"That's not happening" I say before Dr Naidoo speaks.
"Zano is going back to KwaZulu" i say.
"And remind me again who the hell are you?" Dudu says.
Dr Naidoo is standing there shocked like these bloody family members.
"The only legal wife to Zanothando Zulu" I say throwing the marriage certificate copy at her.
"Try me and I will take you to court right now" I say.
"Zenande I swear!" Dudu says ready to fight Siphephelo holds her back.
"Swear as much as you want,his entire family is in KwaZulu and you want him to stew away here with you? Not happening on my watch" I say to her.
She throws a fit and Siphephelo carries her away.
"Dr Naidoo he will have a doctor and a nurse in KwaZulu won't that help him? Yes we are professionals but we are also family isn't that much better than hired people?" I ask knowing that he is going to agree with me.
"Yes Dr Zulu that is right,I'm glad you thought of it that way. I'm going to need somebody to sign his discharge papers" he says.
"Baba can you please sign them before Dudu says Im taking over her man" I say.
Baba and Mamkhulu chuckle and baba follows Dr Naidoo.
"If you were not here,she was going to make sure that he stays here in Joburg. That's what she did last time,they discharged him and she brought him here." Gogo says.
"Gogo you are Zano's blood please don't let yourself be bullied by any wife including me" I say.
"I'm very happy that you are back Sphesihle,that girl has been running a circus at our expense" Mamkhulu says.
"And I can't believe you let her" I say and we all laugh.
Mamkhulu is a straight talker,she says it like it is.
"Oh believe me I didn't that's why she doesn't like me" she says laughing.
"I should leave so that I can get things ready for everyone" gogo says.
"And I should get back to my house before these naughty boys break in" Mamkhulu says.
I give them both hugs and they walk to Zano's room probably to say their goodbyes both to the kids and the man.

I walk to my office and take a seat. Since I got here,I haven't seen him. I don't know why but my heart won't allow me to go into the room maybe it's because I don't want to see him happy and playing with my sister wife's child. Maybe he isn't even minding the twins. I don't want to see that. After some time gogo and baba appear on my door.
"Makoti me and ma are going back home now" he says as they enter.
"Travel safely please" I say as I walk over to them.
"We will see you and the boys tomorrow?" Gogo asks.
"Yes of course we will be there gogo" I say as I hug her.
"Speaking of the boys they need to have a welcoming ceremony,imbeleko" Baba says.
"Of course we will plan it all out when we all get home" I say.
Baba hugs me and they say goodbye. I will never get used to that man hugging me,he must have grown soft over the years.

"Are you crazy!" I hear Dudu shout as I open Zano's door.
What the hell? Zano is holding a crying Themba and Dudu is shouting at my boys. Lwandile looks like he is going to faint and Lwandle looks scared.
"Dudu!" Zano shouts.
"No they must be disciplined that coconut mother of theirs doesn't" she says raising her hand to hit them.
"You dare hit them I will give you your mother on a silver platter" i say.
Instead the crazy person slaps Lwandle.
I don't know how I got to her but I have her under me and I'm going to make sure I kill her. I can hear kids crying and Zano shouting but I keep on throwing punches at her. She can't touch me,I'm stronger than her,when I was back in Italy my dad made sure that I get training,I know how to fight and I know how to handle a gun,my family sells them after all. I feel arms holding me and dragging me away from a crying Dudu. He carries me straight out of Zano's room and I scream.
"My kids! My kids!" I say kicking him.
He puts me down and I punch him.
As I run to the room my boys come out running to me.
"Mommy" they cry and I envelope them in a hug.
"Mommy she hit Lwa" Lwandile says pulling away and showing me his brother's cheek.
My son's eyes are bloodshot red and his entire face is swollen with marks on his cheek. That makes me boil. Siphephelo appears joining the security guard.
"I need you to get Lwa checked out on the first floor ask for Dr Mkhize,she is a pediatrician" I say to Siphephelo.
He sees how serious I am and picks both of them up. He leaves immediately.
I go into that damned room followed by the security guard I punched. There is another one that holds Dudu back when I enter,I go straight for her regardless. The one behind me tries to hold me back and I kick him in the groin. I push the one holding Dudu to the side and he almost falls back. I don't waste time as my fist connects with the woman's face. She almost falls to the ground,the security guard I pushed tries to hold me by my arms and I kick him from the back. He crouches and my knee connects with his face. Dudu is already by Zano's side. This immobile man can't save her from me.
"Zenande!" He shouts and I push his shoulder away that is keeping Dudu away from me. I find her throat and I squeeze. I can almost see her eyeballs turn white when Siphephelo pulls me away.
"Dudu!" Zano shouts as she falls to the ground,Dr Naidoo is already by her side.
"Calm down" Siphephelo says.
They must have heard their screaming because I didn't even make a sound,that's what I was taught,no screaming or you attract an audience.
"My son Siphephelo" I say hissing.
"He is okay,they are both fine. Calm down" he says.
"I told her not to touch my kids" I tell him.
"I know calm down" he says and let's go of me,I fall to the floor in a seating position.
Dudu,the guards and the doctor are gone. Zano is looking at me as angry as he can be. He doesn't have a right!
"You sat there when she slapped my five year old son you bastard!" I shout standing up.
"What was I supposed to do miraculously start walking? Tell me huh!" He shouts also.
"That's a fucken excuse and you know it. That bitch of yours doesn't listen to a word you say!" I yell.
"This is a hospital you two" Siphephelo says entering the room with two glasses of water with ice. He hands one to me and I take it.
"Bafo" he says to Zano.
He reluctantly takes it with a 'mxm'.
I take  two sips and hold it. Zano gulps down the entire glass.
"I don't want you or that wife of yours near my children. In fact I want you to tell her to go open an assault case against me right now" I say anger not leaving my body.
"Uyahlanya?"(are you crazy?) Zano shouts.
"Sphesihle" Siphephelo says softly.
"You couldn't protect Lwandle from your own wife!" I scream.
It's only now that tears come to the surface. He keeps quiet.
"Don't convince her not to get me arrested,in fact I want you guys to encourage her because if I don't get arrested right now I will kill her" I say.
Zano looks at me and looks away.
"Sphe listen ...." Siphephelo says.
"No! Did you see my son? Did you see his face? What am I supposed to tell him? That his father's wife hit him just for fun? Tell me!" I scream.
"You should have told me that you don't want them in your lives,I would have left" I say Zano looks at me with eyes I can't read.
"I will never forgive you or that woman. You know what I'm leaving!" I say.
"Leave my kids behind when you do" Zano says.
"They are not your kids,you are a fucken sperm donor!" I say
He throws the glass he was holding at me luckily he threw it to the side because it crashes and shatters on the wall.
"Zano!" Siphephelo shouts.
"Birds of a feather flock together" I say as I walk to the door.
"You take my kids and I will kill you when I find you" he says and he is dead serious.
"Who said they are yours? Don't flatter yourself" I say.
"Who are you trying to convince me or yourself?" He asks.
"I wish they were never yours" I say as I walk out and I hear something hit the wall.
