Chapter 4: The Drama

We head inside and put the other packages with the big one on the kitchen counter "I know you said that it was big and heavy but really what could he have ordered online this big" Mom asks now inspecting and broding at the package as if it would explode if she did something wrong "Mom it's not going to hurt you to try and guess what it is and it's from HardWood.com I'm assuming that they sell tools and building supplies and the whole Subang'' I say leaning on the counter across from my mom 'Or at least I hope I can't imagine how I would feel is the website was anything other than a building supple site' I say in my head thinking a little about it till I see that my mom is in deep thought I can tell because her forehead had creases and the corners of her eyes were wrinkled up and her mouth was in a small frown

"Now why would your father get so many packages unless he was planning something and you know your father if he starts to plan something there is no way on getting him to stop, so it makes me wonder if it is a good plan or a bad plan that he has come up with this time" Mom says now looking up from the package with a bored face "Jesus Miss. Cooper, you are acting like Mr. Smith is going to kill us and hide the bodies or something" Amelia says and she laughs a little "Yeah Mom you don't think like that do you?" I ask smiling a little and all my mom could do was smile at Amelia and me and roll her eyes a little "Of course not I just meant that his plans normally don't go down so well I mean don't you remember me telling you guys our wedding story before" "You mean the one where Mr.Smith rubbed cake all over your face and then he accidentally fell into the cake itself and then he broke the table" Amelia asks chuckling at the image she's picturing of my dad on the ground with a face full of cake and broken table pieces next to him.

"Yep that's the one he wanted to surprise me with hand feeding me a piece of cake but that went horribly wrong didn't it" "That story is one of my favorites of all of Dad's embarrassing moments in his life" I say busting out laughing and so does Amelia and Mom but in the midst of our laughter we hear a voice say "Why are you guys so loud" we turn and see Alexander coming down the stairs "Hey what are you doing here I thought you was in Florida enjoying the sun on a beach not here freezing your butt off in this cold weather" Alexander asks while going toward Mom for a hug "Hey I came home because your father apparently had packages coming to my house while I was away" Mom says while hugging Alexander "He had ordered more packages?" "Yeah see all the new packages on the kitchen counter," I say going around and standing next to them with my arms crossed "Yeah I can see but why did he order more things, and why to Mom's house" he asks picking up a box "And why are they heavy'' he starts to question turning to us with the package still in his hands "So nobody knows why he ordered them? Or why they were going to Miss.Cooper's house?" Amelia asks now wanting to know why my dad is now shopping and ordering things online and keeping them hidden from everyone "I'm just curious I mean aren't you guys at least a little bit hesitant to just leave the boxes alone plus I love mysteries especially ones that involve family drama" Amelia says smiling like she is a detective solving a deep case that nobody can crack open but herself.
