Chapter 8: The Packages

We go inside the house and one of the first things I see are the packages on the kitchen counter while Dad is putting his coat on the coat hanger I go up to the packages, pick one up with some struggle, and bring it over to Dad and Amelia who is still munching on my candy bar. "Here Dad Mom bought these from her house she said that they are for you from a website named HardWood.com," I say giving the box to him, he just stares at the box for a little bit before saying "Your Mother brought this?" "Yeah, you know how you asked about why Mom was here instead of in Florida on vacation" "That's not the only package though Mr. Smith there were another 4 boxes that Miss. Cooper brought it with her from her house and there was a big one on the front porch when we came here from school," Amelia says now done munching on again my candy bar Dad looks at Amelia but whenever he looks at her there is a strange sota look in his eyes every time but like always its dismissed without a thought about it.

"There is," Dad asks now, looking at me "Yeah and all of them are heavy," I say smiling a little "What could you have gotten that is so heavy? '' Amelia asks, laughing a little. Dad smiles at her "Nothing important it's just some things for work and all'' He says shrugging his shoulders a little "Dad don't you run a company why would you need to purchase tools and building supplies'' I ask now confused even more about these packages "Yeah I do but we are adding more space and we are making the company bigger and I wanted certain things to be added so I decided to purchase it myself" He says putting the box down next to the others "But how do you know what I purchased?" he asks turning to me and Amelia "We looked it up with Mom and Alex we were curious" "No offense Mr. Smith but you ordering things off online is a bit surprising to us and also we are a bit noise" Amelia says with a smile "Well I have nothing to hide but is me ordering things from online that surprising to you guys?" Dad says leaning on the counter facing me and Amelia "Well I mean a little but also Amelia would not shut up about what it could be" I point to Amelia next to me with a small eye roll "I thought that the big one was originally a birthday present for Willow I mean a girl can dream can't she" "Well I'm sorry to say that these are just for my work there is no birthday gifts in here" Dad says smiling "Well I'm going to go to bed I am worn out from today" Dad says as he starts walking to the stairs until he stops and turns to us "Have you guys had dinner because I can order pizza and give you guys the money" "No we hadn't had dinner yet and pizza sounds good if you're cool with Amelia" "Fine by me as long as you don't mind Mr. Smith'' Amelia says looking at my dad.

"I'm fine with ordering you guys a pizza and there should be a 20 in my wallet in my coat pocket" Dad says as he starts walking up the stairs again. "You want to watch a movie while we wait for the pizza to arrive?" I asked, going over to the couch and turning on the TV "Sure what are you feeling tonight?" Amelia asks flopping onto the couch and on my lap "What about a Horror movie since Halloween is tomorrow" I look down at Amelia in my lap, and she turns and looks up at me "What about a comedy instead you know how I feel about your Horror movie type" "What's that supposed to mean?" "You know there are different types of people who watch horror movies you are the one who only likes horror movies with mainly blood and gore in them"

I stare at her and think for a minute, till I feel a poke on my nose and hear the word 'Boop' from Amelia "Why did you poke my nose?" "Well you were just staring at me thought you were about to kiss me or something I had to avert your attention" "I wasn't about to kiss you I was thinking about a movie to watch where we will both be happy and we both will actually watch" "Why don't we watch a horror comedy or one of those scary movies where they make fun of horror movies" "You mean scary movie" "Yeah what are they called?" "scary movie" "No know that it's a scary movie but what is it called?" "They are called scary movies, those are the titles of the movies" "Really?" "Yeah" "Well can we watch them?" "I don't know I haven't looked to see if we have them all yet" I look at the TV and start searching for the movie "Do you want to watch them in order or just randomly" "In order please" "Okay then let see if we can find the first one" "Oh here it is 'Scary Movie''" I click on it and we start to watch while waiting for the pizza.
